3 bucket wash did NOT kill mites (pics)

So I was a couple of weeks from harvesting and noticed a light spider mites infestation on my buds for the first time. After researching and posting on here and other forums I tried to get rid of them by spraying iso diluted and that did not really help. I did read about harvesting and let the mites crawl to the top and killing them, but after reading about bud washing I decided to chop the plant a little early and wash the buds before the infestation got worse.

It was a super time consuming process and 2 days laters I see the mites crawling up all over the clips holding the buds and even walking all over the string. Now I cleaned everything and hung the buds again, hopefully they are truly gone at this point...

I just thought I would let people know that hydrogen peroxide, lemon juice and baking soda won't kill mites and eggs

Put some hot shot pest strips in the room for a week or so before next run and clean everything good

The next time (if) you get spider mites. You have to spray them with the alcohol mixture over a two week period, sometimes three.
It's best to keep a constant outlook for the little suckers and take precautions to insure they don't become a problem.
The was is there to rinse away dead bugs not to kill then.
It is also to stop any unseen fungal infections. And potassium bicarbonate works better than baking soda.

I was afraid the alcohool mix would end up rinsing all the thricomes away if I sprayed too much
any tips on how to clean for the next plants?
do you think the buds are smokable?

Yes the buds are probably smokable.
I would clean the tent then spray with alcohol. Then after that is done go get bug bombs (the type of bomb that is for fleas,, bedbugs and lice) and do the tent and the room it's in at the same time. Then clean again. Then start from seed with new soil and you should be fine.
If you ever notice tiny white specks on the new foliage count on it being the same problem. You can use preventative measures like spinosad and or predator bugs. There are several threads on here that have discussion about this very subject. I would read as many as I could. There are several different combinations of tactics that you can choose from for any given situation.
Good luck friend!
