Hey Rollitup heads!

I've been lurking around here for years and never started a thread. Building a new closet and thought I would document the process for anyone interested! Did a few years of grows in the past, this one will be smaller and just for fun, lots less pressure!!!

I'm going to put two 600s in this 2x8 closet for flowering. Will use a tent for veg with a big T5. Right now I just have a small t5 in the closet the get the ball rolling!

I will be doing SubCool's SuperSoil in SmartPots (6 - 10 gallon pots) and I will try CCOB on half of them (I have not done it before so want to compare some bushy bushes with CCOB).

Been looking at Hobbes setup and wildly impressed! He does pretty dang good with one 600 in a slightly larger space. I may use a light mover for my two to get even more exposure...

Gonna cool it all with a 8000 BTU AC and will seal the whole thing up...no need to vent with those two 600s and an 8000 btu ac!!! I may vent for dark hours...may get mechanical vent that opens on a timer when CO2 is not running.

I will put a controller on everything for temp, co2, humidity. I gotta find the right dehumidifier...one that takes up little space and can drain through a tube.

So here is the closet....I have taken the mirrored sliding doors off of the closet and I am going to frame out a wall behind where the doors go. It will be lightweight...2x2s with hardboard. 2ft wide panels that swing open on hinges...buildin that later today...here is what it looks like now...

Just topped these ladies...all are from clones...some strains I have run before, some just picked up from shops...they are all in Roots Organic with some clone solution...

OK gotta get some surfing in before the crowds arrive...I will post the progress...

Here are the framed out doors. I put hardboar on the two foot wide panels, they sit behind the sliding mirror doors that were already on the closet. Gotta use a tent for veg once this goed into flower.

Here is what it looks like with original mirrored closet doors closed in front of the newly framed hardboard walls.

Closed Doors.jpg

Next closing up the top and putting in the AC and a scrubber. The little buggers are already getting stinky!

Here are two chemdawg plants that I am training in two different ways. The bigger plant below is a CD that I have topped only once and will do CCOB. So I will let this veg to 30 inches or so, then wrap the main stems around a round tomato trellis.

Topped Once.jpg

The other one below is same age but shorter, with more nodes, because after topping it I have been pinching under each new mature node. This makes the node below belive it is the main cola and shoot up. So it should probably have about twelve main stems coming out. I will not CCOB this one, but will just see if I train it with pinching and tying if I can get same result as COOB.

These will go into 10 gallon smart pots with SuperSoil. I will veg as long as needed to get killer bush on this one...prob 60 days...

I'm sealing the top of the closet and put in the AC

I put a big t5 in the closet for veg...this closet will turn to flower room once I get the 600s in...strill wondering if I should do one on a light mover or two (maybe still with light mover...

t5.jpg
Three weeks of veg on first batch. Doing LST on half and will do CCOB on other half (one of each strain to compare yields of big bush vs CCOB)

And some new babies...out of the clone bubble and into 1 gal smart pots...

i very much like the closet. Just my .02 here and an opinion, not based on factual experience. If you have these lights in air cooled hoods, i would hang them both, symetrically in the space and not use movers, dont think you need em. Im very curious to see how you hang/cool them. Im about to add 2 x 600watt lights and am wating to see how others keep them cool. I just see a lot of different concepts in the various posts ive studied so far. keep the pics coming, your setup looks fabulous.

Hey thanks for taking a peak! I think you are right about keeping two stationary 600s in there...I'm hoping with just the two 600s I can keep the temps down with the 8500 btu ac....without venting out...just sealing up...if too hot, I may just use the one 600w on a light mover...

The guys at shop think it will stay cool enough without venting...we will see!!!

I started training the bigger veg plants and topped the little babies.

I am doing LST and tying down on 4 of the veg plant and doing CCOB with the other four.

So the first four I have tied down and the others letting shoot up for a few more weeks before CCOB attempt!

I poked wholes in the side of the smart pots and tied these four down with some hemp trying and one twisty tie...

On the ones above I have been pinching the stem after every new node appears...Super Super cropping!!! It is paying off they are full as hell...compare the ones below were I did just one super crop pinch.

Here are the 4 not getting tied down...I'm going to grow them until they have two twenty four inch foot branches, then will do CCOB and wrap those branches around a tomato cage...These are in 3 gallon now and will be transplanted to 10 gal...this closet will eventually only have 6 - 10 gal smart pots and will put 600s in over next two weeks...

And here are some babies just topped...will just have two nodes/branches on these...will trim off additional branches later for cloning!

just my input, if your going to run a sealed cab with AC unit, its pretty much going to run nonstop... AC units also act as dehumidifiers....

Hey Oakley...thanks for the input...

So you think I should probably vent those 600s?

I use to grow with 1000s and this is my first 600 attempt so it is new for me...I could easily vent the lights and keep it sealed...I'm thinking of possibly using the scrubber as a "lights and co2 off" vent...got some good cool ocean air in the evenings that I can pull through the lights to cool, or in through scrubber at night....may want to get one of those y vents that you can open and close on a timer, so I can bring in cool air at night, and vent the lights during the day.

Would probably be nicer to just have the vent running most nights rather than that AC...

What do you think about just one on a light mover?

OK that room went sideways...not cool location due to kid staying over a couple night a week so using another location and 8x8 with two thousands on light movers....

Vegging is happening and will start flower in a couple of weeks...just did first CCOB training today...we will see how it goes...the bushes look great two....

So running CCOB vs bushes to see what produces more in a 10 gal Super Soil SmartPot!

Here is the new setup: Click on these for larger size...
