Btw, why don't you get a Atreum 288.2 and a hlg-120h-54?
There would be plenty light for a 2x2

You could get a a hlg-240 from the start and just add one more board when you upgrade to 4x2

I would buy them from Digikey. I believe they have european warehouses.
I can see that I can get the samsung led strips from avnet, who also have european warehouses.

So currently I'm investigating kits. And I find it really hard to compare the Atreum 288.2 vs HLG 138, and then something like this COB light from china https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Dimmable-Full-Spectrum-COB-LED-Grow-Light-CREE-CXB3590-200W-26000LM-HPS-400W-Growing-Lamp-Indoor/1455038_32850549587.html?spm=2114.12010612.8148356.1.1b924c0cixL1o9

The Atreum is only the board, and I can't find euro resellers for it.

Edit: I know the China light can produce some serious grow, but there is no PPFD comparison for it. I found it through this guy's diary https://growdiaries.com/diaries/16973-green-crack-lst

nah that china light is just trash.
Atreum(there's also the heatsink) and HLG boards are made the same, equal lights. Atreum should be US based only while @diyled is a official HLG distributor in EU at www.diyleduk.co.uk.

Hm, okay. I think I am set on the HLG Quantum 288.2 board. I'm considering getting 2 and then powering them with a HLG-120H-c2100. Is this vast overkill, or is it not such a bad idea?

I am still perplexed that Migro 100, for example, gets a similar PPFD output, using a single COB though.

So these are all based on the Samsung 301B LED's. How would this board or the strips compare up against say the Cree 3590's, the CXM32 or the Vero29?

I find it really hard to compare if I can't use lumens. How many COBS does the board compare to?

I opted for 2 or 3 of the Samsung H-inFlux LM301B instead with a HLG-120H-48a or HLG-185H-48a respectively as it will be cheaper than buying the HLG pre-built board.

Now I am just looking for a European seller of the Samsung H-inFlux LM301B strip. (https://www.diyleduk.co.uk/product-page/samsung-h-influx-lm301b-light-engine only ships to UK apparently).
You can shout him out on here @diyled but will probably get a faster response from emailing him directly.
