ok thanks again you all for you're effort and time. i appreciate it very much. since i moved the boxspring divider in the room my temp has dropped 5*F and my humidity went up a couple of points. i also checked my ph and ppm. i had to adjust my ph back down to 5.8, from 7.2. My ppm also went way up, 445 from 264 just two days ago...i'm not sure, but doesn't that mean that the plants are taking water only, and zero nutes, since the res is more concentrated now?
NoDrama...i have some general hydroponic Flora series nutes. (Grow and Micro), no Bloom yet. I wanted to start with the fish fert snce it says that it won't burn. Also, because my plants are small compared to average 3 week olds, i wanted to start with a low ppm, like 250-300. i also adjusted my watering cycle to water 3 times a day for 15 min each. i was wondering how to lower my res temp, should i use ice packs for lunchboxes or something?

H&D...like i was saying, i raised my ph to 5.8, and my ppm is now 445. I didn't want to start nutes to high because of burn. i have been told to gradually increase (every week) until im up to about 1500 during last stages of growth...

Earl...it says on the alaskan fish fert bottle for soil or hydro, so i beleive it will be ok. since i've started using that fert, the plants seem to be growing more full. i have some hydro nutes, Grow and Micro anyway, no bloom. i was afraid to add them because from my first try at this, my plants were about the same size and it fried them. of course i didn't have a tds meter like i do now, but i was adding 1/8 what the label said. Anyway, my tds meter is zerowater brand i think...all it has on it is "TDS" across the top. (15 bucks at walgreens....)

so i've added more pics from today so you can see their progress...the first is a group shot of them eating. the 2nd - 4th are two of the bigger plants and their roots. last is my digi meter for temp and humidity. Thanks and keep the advice coming...we're in this together...:blsmoke:

hey cat, man you gotta make better use of that lighting. The heat off those is minimal, get them as close as you can without burning the leaves, but watchout for that water spashing.Align the pots to make as best use of the lighting as best you can.How often you do you change the res?

hey caddy! thanks for the input! first thing in the morning i will move all the netpots towards the right side of the tray (away from the water spout), and rearrange the lights closer to the plants. as far as the res changing goes...i only started using the system about 2 weeks ago, an ddon't know when a good time is to change it. i can tell you that in 2 days time my ppm has gone from 265 to 445, so if that continues, i will have to pump some nutrient solution out, and refill with plain ro water so that the ppm does not get too high.

I would be changing the res every 7 days. just get the GH bloom buddy! I am using the flora series on my seedlings and am feeding them 2.5ml of each(micro, flora,&bloom). I just assume they work best in conjunction with one another. I too am trying my hand at Hydro, I'm just trying to get comfortable with it before I try other nute additives. I would start ppm between 300-400 as they are 3 weeks old. just top off the res with ro water as needed and up the ppm if they need it. I don't know about ebb&flow, do you need to put hydron in there?
