2nd LED Party Cup Competition Official Update Thread

This is the official update thread for the 2nd ever LED party cup grow-off. Contestants must provide a photo-update every weekend from here on out, or they're out. The rules are simple: must be in a 16oz plastic party cup, must be grown primarily under LED, must have your seeds germinating no later than Jan. 5, and must update weekly. All the other details can be asked at the signing up thread.

Write on the cup the following:

strain name
date germed
date date seeds pop out of cup

In your first post, give a few details about your strain, medium, nutrients, lights, any training, etc...

Competition ends when all contestants have harvested. I think that's all for now. Any questions let me know. Let the games begin! Good Luck and Have fun!

Sweet. I will give a mini update right now as to what I will use, but I will not germinate until Christmas Day. I am a sentimentalist.
I will only be using bag seeds as I have been doing clone only for over a year. My soil is FFOF and FFHF mixed 50/50. I will be using
FF Nutrients (Grow Big, Tiger Bloom, Big Bloom), only because I'm trying to use them all up and go organic. They will be started
under a H150 Kessil Purple, but probably will be transferred into my bigger tent when the time is right, I currently have a
Kessil H350 Magenta, Blackstar 240 and a Haight Solid State PPF-800 in it. Probably no training other than topping, but we will see.

General Organics nutrients.
Gonna germinate DNA-KushBerry, starting tonight.
Gonna start it out with the Kessil H350 Deep purple LED light, Then theres a chance I might keep using it, or switch to the Kessil H350 Magenta, or a blackstar 240w.
So at the least I will have 90watts on it, and max I will have 420watts..
Gonna top it at the least, and take it from there..

To the left, 3 Agent Orange seeds (fem!??) found in some great frosty buds, ... the only 3 seeds that I could find on the plant.

To the right, 2 Agent Chemo seeds, from a male Agent Orange x Chemo



I forgot to say, I dont know about the nutes yet and I am also thinking of using coco, ... but most likely I will use promix and I will improvise with the nutes as I dont really have bottled nutes leftover so thats that.

I'm kinda bored, so I might as well jump in. Let's Roll Bitches!

Started the seeds in a mix made up of some Ocean Forest/ Happy Frog/ Earth Gro/ Espoma Flower Mix/ Miracle Grow Organic with Espoma Perlite, Espoma Lime, Espoma Acidifier, and Espoma Plant-Tone. It's gonna be a miracle the little bastards don't burn up . The soil was moistened with water mixed with a small touch of worm drippings and BMO's Super Plant Tonic. There's also 8 small marbles on the bottom of the cup, (16 oz. Green party cup), for drainage and ******** (Ha-ha my secret).

Seedz, (Critical Mass), were dropped in, (off center), on Fri. December 7th. And for lighting I'm using, uhmm, nothing. Why would I light up a cup of dirt?

Plants are sitting on a oil filled radiator behind my flowering tent that's setup to stay between 70 and 80 degrees F. Double cups are being used now to keep the soil warm and will be removed, along with those Baggies when seedz sprout and are sent to their next home;

That's right folks, it's a completely custom Ghetto Gro™ Banger Deluxe ! I'm talking 20 (probably 14-16) watts of 12,000K white light, complete with a Ghetto Gro™ Advanced Gun Metal Reflector System. Eat it bitches! OK, it's actually the body of a failed 10 watt 5500K wash light that I've modded and installed a 20 watt 12,000K SMD into. Also I have fallen into the belief that blue lights, (and some additional actions), help produce more females. JoGro actually straightened me out about this, but until this system fails me, (7 out of 10 females last time), I like using blue and cold whites for germination. If growth sucks or it's too hot they'll be moved, but the plan is to keep them under this light for as long as possible and try to do a little LSTing.

So that's my start. I'm going to keep the information Puff wants on the cup in my signature until I select a seedling, that's if I'm lucky enough to have one to choose . Now excuse me I got this crazy shit growing all over my begonias!


THINGS TO DO:
1. Get a new camera and a picture server.
2. Tell PSU I didn't do that thing because it goes completely against my growing style.
3. Try not to cheat too much .

I never grew in a solo cup, and I remember one member saying it tends to tip over a lot, so I came up with something that can be helpful, cheap and easy to make.
Just need a little plastic tote from lowes home improvement center, and a 3-1/2" hole saw..

Postal service gets a lot of backlog on these times (end of the year celebrations) so all my stuff is still on its way here. I don't think I'll be able to build the boxes in time, since I also have to travel to visit my parents during xmas and new year's...
