2nd Attempt - Indoor Grow Log

Hello, and welcome to my Grow Journal. The main purpose of this log is to help me keep track of dates, size of the plant, what I did right/wrong.. etc. If you have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer them if possible. I have attempted to grow last season with the same setup, but had to discontinue it early due to Spider Mites.

This is the second time around. Things will be much different, guarenteed. I have a new friend, who has grown before himself. He also runs a Hydroponic Store (HydroponicHomes.com - Featured in High Times!) , so it has been a great help.

First, let us start off with my equipment.

I have a 25gallon tupperware tub thingy, the top has 5 holes cut into it. I currently have 2 plants ready to sex, and one that has just recently sprouted (which will die.)

I just hooked up a second pump, my first one supplies two hoses, with a third coming from the second pump. I'm told too much oxygen will not hurt the plant, and what does not kill us, makes us stronger.

I have been using Blue Lightning to keep my resovoir clean, and a combintation of 2parts BC Boost , 1 Part BC Grow. With the recent water change, I have added 1/2 Part BC Bloom as well.

I am using a "EzHydro Light" (Yes, I bought the setup, and love it.) - It's a CFL , which produces little to no heat- making it possible to keep the light directly above the plants. I am growing in a spare closet, not sure on the measurments.. but hell, it's an average closet. Perfect, expect for the Spidey Mites.

But I have something to kill them this time around as well, as well as some helpful tips as to exterminating them. I'm told by a reliable source, that a bit of soap, plenty of water, and a little bit of original listerine (the yellowish orange one) - sprayed on to the plant, will kill, and prevent more spider mites for a couple weeks, Sweet.. Wish I would've known this last time.

You see, I have yet to harvest my own crop. I grew outdoor, and had to discontinue due to it's massive height- my neighbors could have seen it quite easily. Then, my indoor grow with the spider mites.

Now, Back to the plants themselves.

I do not know when I started them. The earliest pic I have is from May 13th, and they are about 5 inches high. Now (Pictures coming soon.) , they are about 9-10 inches, and I just switched the light cycle from 24hours light (for at least a month.) down to 12/12 to sex them. Let's keep our fingers crossed for some vaginas to sprout out.

This is the picture I took on May 13th.

More pictures will be posted within 24hours. I need to transfer them from my card, to my moms computer, to a blank CDR, to my computer- so it'll be when I get off work.

All comments are welcome, The only thing I left out were the seeds used. I could only get my hands on some commerical seeds, but from what my buddy told me- it should still be some good bud. I am even going to name it.. after myself. I have yet to finialize a name, but when the bud shots start coming, you'll defiently have a name on them.

The only thing at this point I'm unsure of- is time frames. I am into the third day of sexing. Can anyone tell me how long it will be until the buds start to take form? I haven't had a plant bud for me yet..

These are the pics I took yesterday, May 28th.

The first two are right before I changed the water , still in the closet.

These next two are directly after changing the water.

I almost forgot to mention in my initial post..

My plant, topped all by itself. That is why it is so much bushier. There was no slowed pace in the growth what so ever , but yet it is still split into two stems. Very proud of this one.

Fourth day into sexing , crossing my fingers - but I believe I saw a pussy :D Ill try to get my cam to get a zoomed pic of it , but it probaly wont be anything worthwhile.

Just a little update , I'm currently in the process of getting pictures.

The single stemmed plant has grown about 6 inches this week :) I raised the light again and it just shot right up. The 2 stemmed plant (that topped itself.) is getting bushier by the day.

And now for the good news..

THEY'RE BOTH FEMALE.

Wooooooooo. I'll post pics of the pussies (at least I think they're pistils) as soon as I can. I just got off work.. so I'm too tired to do all that jazz.

I never get any comments :/ I know I don't really need any help.. but it'd be nice for one of you stoners to drop by and go "Man, Wish I could smoke that when it's done!"

Maybe after the pistils have come in more :/ Time to turn the light on in 3 minutes.. this joint wont even be done burning by then.

13 Days into Sexing and still no real bud growth. I'm still not 100% certain on the sex, even if I declared them female in an earlier post.

I have a feeling the lines on my pump weren't giving my plants enough oxygen.. I have since adjusted them. I have also raised my light almost another half foot due to quick growth. I expected them to grow at different rates, but I don't want the lighting to be a problem.

I'm considering purchasing some basic light bulbs.. just to get more light on the bushy part that is growing slower (my guess is it isn't getting enough light..). Anyone have any other suggestions? I'm also considering tieing the middle plant's stems to the side a bit.. I don't know at this point. I'll post pictures the next time I update.

Yeah, I paid the extra $5 to get the dual spectrum one. I just added a $10 "grow light" i picked up at walmart yesterday. It won't be enough to grow on it's own, but it should serve it's purpose in this case.

Now, I have a problem and would like some assisstance if possible.

Both my babies are female (can see hairs on both of them.) HOWEVER, I do believe my non-topped plant has at least one set of testicles coming in. Hermies they are called. After posting this I'm going to be looking for more information on them. I don't want to have to kill the whole thing :(

Anyone got some experience in these kind of cases?

Thinking they both might be Hermies.. Contemplating murder suicide.. lol.

Here are the most recent pics I have. More and more pistils are showing (they're pretty) , and still with at least 1 set of testicles (i think.. my digi cam won't zoom clearly enough to get a good pic.)

Quick update , I have more pics on my digi cam, waiting to transfer them over to a cd-rom then my computer..

Plants have gotten huuuuge. Co2Boost (Courtesy of HydroponicHomes.com) is helping a great deal, I am seeing more and more pistils every day. It is now getting to the exciting part, and don't you worry.. the pics are coming soon.

Now, I'm no expert at eyeballing measurments, but I'd say my single plant is about three feet, and my topped plant is about 6 inches smaller. Both have shown signs of being Hermies, but I have removed the testicles, and I'm keeping a close eye on them.

I can't really find any information on Hermies.. I've checked the grow FAQ , but got the same results as looking for updated sexing pictures. Nothing I didn't already know.

But yes, this indeed will be my first harvest. I am very excited and looking forward to blazing my own bud for the first time. My beautiful babies have already made me proud.

YOU PEOPLE, on the other hand.. ignore me. Maybe it's because I'm still known as a "Stranger" - but let me tell you something, I can roll a mega joint like a god.

Comments and Help on the Hermie topic is MUCH appreciated.

Your plants are looking very healthy, the stems are very thick. However I could not see any signs of forming flowers on your pics, maybe it's just too early to decide if they are hermies or not.

Those pics are a couple weeks old. Theyre both female. :)

Hey man, nice little hydro setup you got going on there. I could see this being a successful journal. If you want people to comment, you gotta post on some threads and get your link out. Its working for me, sort of. Check out my Closet, I have just found some females.

My babies are a week from being cut. One is budding quite well, while the other is ripening a bit too fast. Due to moving out I will be cutting the process short , friday to be exact. I will have all the updated pictures, continueing from where I left off, up to the buds being hung to dry. I know I won't yield a great amount from them, but I plan on getting at least an Oz and a Half, which is cool with me. Looking and smelling great.. only a week to go :)
