Yea love me some bondage when it comes to growing lol. :)
It is a N def I haven't been able to feed them lately since the soil isn't dry enough from the flush, but this grow I started using botanicare.

Hey there im on my second grow and im 3 weeks in, i have only given them 2 very small waterings when they were in 5" pots. I let the soil/peat dry out till it was almost dusty, then re potted into 10l pots they had 1 water the day i re potted and one 5 days later, only watered until at most there was a 5% or 10% drainage. Less is more, same goes for nutes, im using lightly fertilised canna pro soil. Not giving them anything for another 2 weeks until i finish veg. There looking well i think, im using a 2 x 400w mh and 1 3oow dual cfl. I would let the soil completley dry out force the roots to search for water, just curious when your flushing how much water will you use?

Ive heard that you are supposed to flush with 2x-3x the amount of the pot its in so I used roughly 2 gallons of water to flush each also using clearex to flush with. Also this is my 3rd full grow but first with an hid light. My first grow was outdoors the 2nd with cfls and I wasn't happy with fluffy buds so here I am with an hid now.

Im far from an expert but i think that much water will literally drench them way too much, is your soil aireated? if not it maybe that overwatering is suffocating them which is why they may have slight N deficiency. Hopefully someone wil come along and shed some light on things . Flushing as far as i know involves using similar amounts of water just without nutes, what your talking about sounds like leaching, but im not sure, like i says i aint no expert. I wouldnt water anywhere near that amount until they are much more established. I have given my 17 plants about 5 gallons between them since they sprouted 3 weeks ago.

The clearex is supposed to be a supplement for flushing and like you said that much water did drench them. There starting to dry out now (well kinda not as damp as it was) so when the whole ot is dry all the way to the bottem then ima give them a nice healthy feeding and im starting to see new healthy white roots at the bottom of the pot where the drainage holes are so the root system is definitely growing stronger now that the soil is drying up some

As long as you have good drainage in your buckets there is no difference really between using 1 gallon and 3 gallons. Adding perlite to your soil will help keep your soil aerated. Or give hempy buckets a try, they are very user friendly and productive.

They are looking good. How long a veg period are you looking for? If you bond to the outer rim of the buckets, remeber to take into account for 50-200% stretch depending on strain. GL mate

I do need to buy some perlite to add seeing that mine has none in it and im sure it would help a lot and I will look into those pots. As far as veg time I really have no clue at this point I had originally planned for 1 month but they are still way to small to put into flowering. On top of that I dont even know there sexyet so im waiting on them to get big enough to clone. Once I have cloned each one I plan to flower the clone so I can eliminate the males after I have gotten that done I plan on finishing the veg of the remaining females amd hopefully build a scrog. Just hope they dont get to tall at that point.

Also I have a question for anyone with the knowledge to answer it. After you take a clone can you put it in the 12/12 light cycle or do you have to wait untill it roots to start it on 12/12?

The N deficiency on the lemon is getting worse but im about to feed them a full dose of nutes as it and both spices are almost 100% dried out and could use the nutes. Now the purp is still heavy I know it has a little more soil than the others but not the amount that its weighing and its still very moist lil over an inch into the soil. On the upside the purp isnt really showing any signs of needing to be feed and theres alot of new growth as far as new tops coming in its almost time for a transplant to I believe I took spice 1 out of its pot to check on the root system and its definitely time to expand. Should I water before the transplant or directly after?

Ok so while waiting to transplant the others I decided to go ahead and transplant the purp since the soil was still wet and figured it might be root bound anyways. Boy was I right so its now in a 2 gallon hopefully this will be plenty of room for the roots to grow untill harvest.

I would water after transplanting. Forget the clearex, its shite hype to spend more money on crap, dont buy into this cash cow of needing all these snake oils. Concentrate on healthy leaves, stop all feeding and just give N to your girls, i think you may be given too many nutes, it doesnt look like the roots are in bad shape, on the contrary, so i reakon that all those snake oils are causing a lock out of your N. Healty leaves = healthy plant, start with N nothing else.

I agree and I think the purp's roots was suffocating but it does keep growing hopefully everything will work itself out as im doing everything I can at this point and taking all advice into consideration im sure they will bounce back. They always have in the past

Just a quick update. Just got done transplanting everthing and wanted to post the pics
Now spice 4's roots wasn't as developed as the others and also wasnt as healthy looking as far as color. On that note I gotta say I have had terrible luck with this plant early while it was a seedling I accidentally broke the top off while it was super young and today after transplanting I accidentally to it again so ima try not to touch this plant anymore seeing as it breaks so easily lol
Here is the spice4

Also I raised the light some for a few different reasons. First off I was battling heat issues and I wasn't comfortable with temps above 80 right now. Another was I want to force a lilbit of stretching I know it's not "ideal" but ita something that I feel needs to be done. Dont worry ill lower it back to 5-10 after I sex the plants and start my scrog net. Anyways enough chattering heres a pic of them together

Ok so its been a week since my last update and figured I get on here and share the lilbit thats been going on.
First off I took super unhealthy spice4 out of the grow. If it happens to make a recovery and turn out to be female ill put it back in for shits and giggles.
Everything else is looking good thought the purp seems to have made a full recovery watching how much I water water it. The lemon is doing good keep tieing it down every chance I get and the spice well its going I guess lol
Day 44 in order lemon, purp, spice

Well super bad news my ballast seems to have burned out on me last night this really pisses me off because its not even a year old and I cant afford abother right now so I guess ima have to go back to cfl's :(

So its been awhile since I posted anything and not much of anything has happened since my ballast blew up but since I had to go back to cfls for the time being I decided to switch the lights to 12/12 just to sex the plants and figure out what ones to take clones from. Turns out the purp is a female so I took 2 clones from it yesterday and im waiting on them to root. The lemon was a male but instead of killing it im going to pollinate everything else with it so ill have seeds for the future and a cross between the 2 strains. The spice has yet to show signs of either but its only a matter of time. Hopefully by the time the purp clones are rooted ill have another ballast and ill put the purp mother and the lemon back into the box and flower them out if not well guess ima have to make due with the cfls and hope for a decent harvest.

Ok so ima start off with some good news before I start posting pictures. I should be buying a new ballast in 2 weeks or so yay!!!. So I can scrap the cfls or at least apply them to another grow. Ive got my mind set on a lumatek ballast I probably should go ahead and get the 400w and just run my 250w hps for flowering seeing as I have a few random 400w mh bulbs laying around but ima just get the 250w since I have no plans to upgrade my system anytime soon and when I do I wanna a 600w. Just need a bigger space.

Ok so about the lovely ladies and the 1 dude that's lucky to be alive. The purp is really looking small but thats mainly from taking clones from the top of the plant. It kinda discouraged me for her to be this small but as long as the clones root and I get to preserve the strain to try again then ill be ok.the spice is beautiful ive topped her, tied her down and now waiting for all the smaller branches to come up. As for the dude in the room (the lemon) its kinda confusing me because when it showed sex it was 100% male no question about it amd now that everything is back to 24hr lighting (has been since the first signs of sex) its still acting like I its in flowering and on top of that today I noticed white pistols so im hoping it turns out to be a hermy and throws out a few buds with that pollen aswell its also created a heafty amount of crystals on the leaves. Now ive seen this before on a flowering female ecen a young one but I didnt know males created thc. Idk maybe its the female within coming out lol

Well to the pictures
First ima post the purp followed by the spice. Then ima post the lemon so you can see why im confused lol.

And for the lemon
20130926_053559.jpg 20130926_053254.jpg 20130926_053240.jpg

So from seed its painfully slow and I tend to be very impatient so ima try to find better methods for veg in general. Unfortunately the clones ive taken from this grow will probably be in soil again but after that I am definitely gonna give hempy buckets a try. I was going to do dwc but hempy seems to be a much easier method and would be easier to do a scrog with. I might try to implement both into a grow so I can learn first hand which is a better style for me.

Me to unfortunately when I bought this I didnt invest in anything like perlite to give better airflow and this was the only soil walmart had that didn't already have food in it like miracle grow
