250 Watt Metal Halide Light M58 any good?

I saw this on ebay and was hoping someone might have some more info on it for me. Its close enough for me to go pick up without haveing to pay shipping so I figure for $45 it aint bad, if it works. Please click on link and give me your opinion if it will be any good. And do you know if the light can be seperated from the ballast?

Looks ok, ballasts fade over time so if its been used a lot it won't be as efficient. These look similar 150w though Vapor Tight Lights (High Pressure Sodium - 150 Watt - Ceiling) - Warehouse Lighting

The bulb says it was used for 2 seasons. Anybody have any idea when I should change bulb because I dont want it to go out. Are there any signs of a bulb going out?
