25 Hour Cycle

So this talk about 12 on 1 off and other BS that really doesnt make a lot of sense in my head with a basic knowledge of photosynthesis and we know that 12-1 shouldn't work but I'm not going to knock it since I haven't tried it. What I was thinking about however was simply runnning a long than 24 hour cycle every day, whats to stop you other than having to physically adjust the timer.

run the lights for 12 hours then turn them off for 13 then back on for 12 thus creating a 25 hour light cycle by adjusting your timer back one hour when the lights go off.

I hypothesize this will induce flowering faster while creating more growth, by lengthing the dark period it should increase resin as well,

thoughts, comments, criticisms?

Hmmm, 12/1 sounds iffy.
Oooh, 16/12, totally unknowing.

Why are you posting? Cannot you read first?

12/1 is established high light veg method.
16/12 is established long cycle bud method.

Hey, reinvent the wheel and argue why it should not be round why don't you?
Not sorry I'm grumpy either.

Try something new is fine, but you call working methods BS and brag about gonna test stuff that has been done years ago and dialed in. Wake up or do something first and then tell us. I hate stinking ignorance.

@PHaeton "The 12-1 lighting schedule is as follows 12 hours lights on, 5.5 lights off, 1-hour lights on, 5.5 lights off, and repeat schedule. The 1 hour on in between off period fools the plants that stay in vegetative growth state! Your immediate savings are 5 hours in energy costs daily, as well as your bulbs and equipment lasting longer. But how do the plants react to this lighting schedule?"

so you believe plants can be fooled cause i only think they can be tricked.

aslo @phaeton, just leave bro I don't want to hear your naysaying I've already heard plenty. I'm sure your grumpy cause of the fucked up light schedule in alaska

i am growing in 12/1 or i started to and had to modify it to suit my needs. i started 12/1 and found it worked great. healthy plants with longer dark time and also more even growth. how ever i noticed the it seemed to put one of my plants into flowering so i adjusted the timer thinking it might have something to do with the fact that it only recieves 12 hours of light at a time in a day. so i changed it to 13/1 and it seems to have put my plant back into veg:D i wont be running the same timer as 12/1 for flowering because i am doing mother and clones. i plan on doing 11/13 as to induce flowering faster

I've done a 33hr(12 dark/21 light or 11 dark/22 light) with a digital timer on my first subsequent indoor grows. It's hell on the electric bill and nute supply.

whats it like on your yield?
I est 10-20% increase yield BUT the electric bill alone increased to 30% compared to normal mode of growing. Since my electric bill were high enough as it was before, I don't sell and it's just for me and my wife it wasn't really necessary to use that timer again.
