I just germinated some seeds and put them into my hydro set-up in rockwool... Under my light, now should I just keep it on for a while or is it better germinating seeds in darkness or at least with a dark period???

darkness untill they sprout the surface then lights.
seeds need darkness to germinate and sprout.

Luda, just a "devil's advocate" question, You CAN put them under light as a seed because they will be getting light when they break the surface of the medium will it not?

I leave them in the dark too, I'm sure most do, I was just wondering as to why you couldn't plant the germinated seeds in your rockwool cube for example, and put them under light then.. and they will get light when the sprout breaks the surface?

I was planning on doing this with this grow, but if there's a reason not to, please point me to the literature brother, and thanks.

I've left my light on whilst the seeds were planted to keep the temperature perfect in my grow environment...they all sprouted fine and are now about 3" tall after 4-5days...They're currently in Jiffy Cubes, should I wait until the roots pop out the sides to transplant or transplant now? Sorry to hijack your thread btw!

i will do and it really dosent matter lights on or off.
if the seed is buried in the soil or the cube the light cant penetrate the soil/cube.
i will get a video up for you.
