My Setup
Lighting
4x26W 2700K CFL (1700 lumens ea)
2x42W 2700K CFL (2700 lumens ea)
3x25W 6500K CFL (1600 lumens ea)

For a grand total of 17,000 lumens

I am doing 20/4 first two weeks, then switching to 18/6.

Nutrients
Foxfarm hydro trio

Grow Room

The area is about 2 square feet.

Temp is around 78-80 degrees.

Strain
I loaded up a germinated unknown strain seed in my AG pod on 3/8. The last seed from my previous grow https://www.rollitup.org/aerogardeners/155387-first-grow-ag-pro-200-a-31.html That turned out to be a male.

Here is a picture of the seed I've been germing..(in a shotglass bottom right corner) and a picture of the male before I chopped him up.

I am expecting 3 feminized seeds sometime in the mail next week: Paradise Seeds White Berry, Dutch Passion Blueberry, Big Buddha Blue Cheese.

If these seeds come I'll probably be tossing this current plant or giving it to a friend because I'm only going to be growing one plant in my AG, and its going to be the White Berry first.

If they don't come (fat chance) I'll just keep this plant going.

When this seed sprouts I'll post another update.

I just picked up 4x26w 6500K daylight bulbs.

I still have the 42w 2700K bulbs in the middle.

I know I said I was going to post an update when it sprouted.. but w/e :-o

I had to rotate my seed in the pod because the taproot starting growing upwards and curled around the seed.

Unrelated note: its cool having the double spectrum right next to each other, shadows are in blue and in red layers,

I actually really dig your lighting setup. Are you going to switch it when you flower, 4 2700k and 2 6500k? Either way this is looking pretty hopeful for a cfl grow.

good luck bro dont expect to harvest too much though with your current lighting

i think instead of having those lights way at the top, you should build a cheap reflector to cover the bulbs.

You need to sort them CFL's that are above that cage thing, make em more useful, they wouldn't be helping much up there.

other then that, good work and good luck :)

2x42w 4x26w 2700K (12,200 lumens) for flowering, keeping other daylight CFL up top just so I have some extra 6500k spectrum in there. (3x25w @ 1600 lumens ea)

But, I might pick up another 2x42w and add another 2000 lumens (5400 versus 3400 (2x26w)) and keep the 2 6500k lights in the middle.

Initially I had a reflector on the bulbs, but it was blocking all of the light coming from the top. It wasn't really doing much other than blocking light from going up onto the other sides of mylar, so I just took them off.

When my plants get a bit taller, the main fixture is going to be raised, and it will be sort of using the AG hood as a reflector.

Well, about 2 square feet with 17,000 lumens, thats 8500 lumens/sq foot, which is more than enough light for a respectable yeild. Thats more lumens than a 150w HPS. If I get an ounce off my plant I'll be happy, next grow I will probably try out some yield increasing stuff like LST.

Thanks man, I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do with my AG hood, I actually had it on the top rack for storage, and then I was like 'well shit I might as well plug it in!'

My main focus has been on my power strip CFL fixture.

Good Luck man..... Im excited to see how this turns out.. What is exactly is LST?
Thanks, I've been checking the tracking on my fem seeds, should be here friday or monday!

Like godbox said, its low stress straining.

Its based on the principle of bending your stems to cover more area with one plant.

I've never heard of LST. Your diagram looks interesting. Have you seen live plants done that way? Pretty

Thats not my diagram, I stole it from google search, I think someone on these forums made it.

I know there is a big thread about it somewhere on these forums...

The theory is that every side node will be growing vertical, therefore will grow a big cola. Instead of one big cola in the middle, its just a bunch of them spread out.

I followed a few journals of people that used LST, but they hadn't harvested anything yet so I didn't really see what the results were.

I will definitely try this out in the future, but IDK if its going to be worth all the extra work or not.

Alright so I got really bored today and decided to re-organize my grow space.

I put a huge ass dome-hood lined with mylar on the top of it, then added the side hood, and covered the hole, so the entire thing is 100% lightproofed. Also, AG hood is now a side light, it goes up pretty high... Changed my fan up a bit so now its blowing the hot air OUT instead of cool air in, temp went from 78 to 73... bongsmilie

This seed is taking a really long time to sprout...

I like the light set-up. Do those sockets plug directly into an outlet?? I almost want to get more cfl's and make one of those for my top light and ditch the AG hood.

Good the luck with the grow. Hope your seeds come soon. I'm gonna be making an order with attitude soon, I've heard good things about that site.

Yea, I have 3 y-adapters and 3 plug to sockets going into the power strip.

The only thing holding the bulbs in are the plugs though, so be careful if they aren't polarized theres not much to grip.

I think I'm going to rig up a fastening system today...
