Quick rundown of the laboratory:

For Veg:
2x2 tent (clones / youngins)
2x4 tent (moms / teens)

Flower:
2 - 4'x5'x1' beds with organic soil mix (nursery mix, coco, ewc, perlite)

2000W - HPS (digilux on one, badass on the other)
400 W - MH (digilux)

12000 BTU dual hose A/C, 6" Exhaust fan clearing the lights

Caregiver grow good for 60 plants ;)

------

So, I built these beds up to another farmer's specifications (from a different forum), to try a different style of growing.

Currently I am focusing on using a no-till method, hopefully building up my soil structure and soil food web. I even added a layer of palm tree mulch/fronds to one bed to help the top layers hold moisture:

I am feeding Earth Juice (Grow/ Bloom/ HighBrix/ Catalyst and Microblast occasionally) as well as liquid kelp.

The beds are on a bit of a perpetual cycle... I have been planting one or two rows at a time, and each bed has multiple strains in it so it get a little wild on the canopy:

Here's a couple pics:

I have some pictures I took on my shitty cell back when I was building them... honestly I just followed another poster's tutorial step by step: I don't want to link to another cannabis forum from here but what you will want to search in google is:

growmaster sog 10x10

The first link is a link to the poster who turned me on to them, if you have specific questions I can help to answer them but you will want to follow his thinking.. I know he was getting between 2-3 lbs per light, I got 23 oz off of the first bed I did with 12 NYCSD and 10 days of veg time.

thanks, ya i have the basic build part down, im pretty handy, i framed in the wall for my grow cutting my garage in 1/2 im currently workin in a 8x8 area with 2x600's adn a 1k on a lightrail3.5./ veggin with a 400 workin good, but i really like the results from the beds man, and i like the idea of amending the beds instead of constantly hauling soil in and out of my garage

yup, once you get it set up it's a breeze:
add on top of that a rez with pump / watering wand you feel like your outside gardening ;)

seruoisly i bet. did u check out my wand/?? it works great... how many u packed in a bed before???.. im talkin
MAXED OUT. i cx u have some nice 24-30 inchers, but like u said before canopy managment comes in definitely with multiple diffrent AGES of plants. LOL
i think you could pack them in tighter but then again im not ATM because its just easier to deal with

It really depends on your strain... I bet I could do 1.5 a sq. ft with a strain that grows straight in a cola... more like .75 plants a sq. ft for a plant that branches out more (with short veg times of course) I prefer the short veg times just because I'm sort lazy and I have the count to work with it right now.

Can't wait to see this fill up :) the beds are looking mighty fine! Also what is that white cross? Lookz similar to the strain I just bred

I think that one just might be a white... I'm a little off on the labeling of a couple strains but should be able to figure em out once they fill in a little more...

Just wanted to show a couple more pictures and give another update..

The castings / palm mulch combo kept the top soil too moist so I removed the palm fronds from the top of the bed for now. Applied DE / a few sticky traps to account for the increased fungus gnat population... despite their population I feel they must only be feeding on fungus in the soil, as my plants look unaffected and I use neem as a preventative.

Here's an overhead pic of the bed with 6 different strains in it all at dif stages:

Here's some nug shots of the RCLA finally starting to yellow out.. I can take it now but I prefer amberzzzz....

Here's a pic of the WSC / SS , done stretching and now fully flowering

Next time you should see a bunch of new plantings in, and perhaps some harvest shots of he RCLA ;D

Hey guys: Here's more of an update on what is going on in the room.

Exciting news! I have taken two RCLA's down... awaiting official count now but I believe I got about 2 ounces of each plant, which isn't too bad for 1 sq. ft of space in the bed for each ;)

If you haven't met RCLA yet. RCLA is Recon x (Cannadential X LA Confidential) : I haven't gotten a chance to mess around too much with her as far as training / topping , because the fact is it grows nugs to the ground which is attractive to me in the bed... Here's a pic of the colas off the RCLA

picwflash.jpgIMG_20120716_234026.jpg

Another sweet thing about the RCLA is the fact she's easy to trim

I'm also on a personal quest to end Fungus gnats in my room once and for all.

First I removed a layer of soil from each bed, retopped the bed with a mixture of Neem Cake, EWC, Kelp Meal and Cottonseed Meal. I watered that in with a few gallons of water before topping each bed with 100 LBs of Play Sand which is about a half inch .. If you don't know about Play Sand and it's ability to take down Fungus gnats, it's silicate structure cuts them up and makes it very hard for them to move in and out of the soil surface. I also seran wrapped off the drain in the bottom of each bed to make sure they aren't having a hay-day down there. Also made some DIY sticky traps out of Ziplock bags, yellow construction paper and tanglefoot.

I also mixed 50/50 90% isopropyl alcohol with water in a spray bottle and took out my anger on some adults. Wanna see what an adult fungus gnat looks 3 seconds later after being sprayedout of mid flight? Lifeless. Badass is all I can say.

Some people really dread plant problems or pests, but I honestly enjoy the challenge and the learning experience.

In this picture you can see JillyBean playing in the play sand, which I must say is also reflecting some light upwards from the bottom of the plant as well:

IMG_1061.jpg

Here's a quick walk around the garden.. you've seen Jillybean, but her main cola structure is definitely pushing a foot plus at 24 days in 12/12 from seed- Sub said high yielder... and she is looking like the biggest in my garden.

The smell is like orange pineapple right now - My gut is saying keeper

IMG_1053.jpg

Here's the Sleez 30 days in - As good as the jilly bean was smelling, the sleez has a smell that even surpasses that. I don't know where it is picking up a passionfruit smell from, but I love it. I was a little disappointed with the stretch on the plant, but honestly it looks like its gonna be loaded top to bottom.

IMG_1060.jpg

Here's querkle that came from another farmer around the forums, the smell is reminiscent of pinesol and has been since day 20. She's at day 49 right now ... I'm waiting for her to purple out a little more as she's already pretty cloudy:

IMG_1058.jpg

The white x ??? is finishing off well, but I forgot to grab photos of her, still very clear on the trichs. Next time I will make sure to update the journal with pics of her as well as the Sour Diesel which being a longtime favorite I'm glad I finally found a good representation of it.

Stay tuned, and please post any questions or comments !

Got a 4x8 tent that I have been filling up:
IMG_1202.jpg
I've also gotten a few questions about the nutes I use, here's most of the bottled stuff minus earth juice catalyst: I am running Fox Farm Ocean Forest this go around
IMG_1227.jpg
Here's a pic of the left side of my canopy, got spacejills and jillybeans in 3 gals on top of my old soil bed
IMG_1234.jpg
Here's a pic of the right side with some of the larger plants all in 7 gals
