24 hrs segment timer keeps breaking

I'm only into my second grow so not a great lot of experience at all.
My timer keeps breaking very frequently and doesn't switch itself off. It was a new ballast and I only have the ballast plugged into the wall socket so definitely shouldn't be an overload. Dodgy ballast of a dodgy wall socket ? It's the 6th timer and of different brands.

Stuck contact in the timer likely being caused by excessive current draw by cheap or defective ballast?

Just guessing, not much info.

Get yourself a heavy duty relay switch to be controlled by your timer. Or make sure your timer is rated to at least 4 or 5 times the wattage of your ballast. Plug n Grow makes a good one.

Plug & Grow timers work only in the UK or where electricity is rated 50Hz, they will spin faster on a 60Hz electricity, I have 2 of them.
