while my seedlings are germinating in the soil, i was told by a fellow grower that i know personally and have smoked several amazing blunts of several hybrids that he has been working on. anyways his advice was to have my lights sitting higher than anyone else on here reccommends and to leave the lights on 24/7..... contradicting views i dont know what to follow. when i asked him about it he said alot of ppl on sites like this will try to lead you in the wrong direction with your growings.... someone help!!!!! :wall::wall::wall:

i have never germed with a light but have it high enough as to where it doesn't burn your hand but is warm, 24 hours is okay. Higher means less warmth, so keep it as low as possible.

they dont need light when germinating. And you can trust most of what you read on this sight. (except maybe what i say....:shock:excluding this) People have their own methods and to each their own. Did he mention what kind of lights he has?

RIU is a rookie ganja grower blessing, love this shit :weed:

seeds should be in complete darkness untill they sprout.
as soon as they sprout put them under light/s.

he grows with literally every light setup
that bastard :cuss:

Yea i don't know what to tell you, sounds like he should know what he's talking about. But the "information" he is giving you is contradictory to that.:-? Maybe he has dementia.

Good luck man

It's really not confusing. A plant with no leaves can obviously not photosynthesize and thus can obviously not use any lights, not to mention the seed is under dirt and light does not penetrate dirt all that well. Leaving the light on would probably not hurt it much as the seedling wouldn't receive the light anyway, but beyond warming the soil it would also serve no purpose besides wasting electricity.

well the seedlings have all started to peak out of the dirt and are just sitting on the soil line, i feel like they are going to get dried out just sitting there, idk my friend said i worry too much and want everything a certain way, i guess i should just chill and let them do their own thing

if the sprouts have raised from the soil give them light and water as required.
its not rocket science.

/\Yeah. I would honestly say most issues growers run into are getting over paranoid and trying to control/correct every little thing. These plants deal with a lot of crap out in the real world and handle it all just fine. (Try to look at most things in the fashion of how does it work outside. When a plant breaks soil outside it is of course going to get sunlight meaning its OK for the same thing to happen indoors.)

you can germenate either way, lights or dark. i put mine right in the soil and keep in my veg room under my 400wtt mh. just keep the soil from drying out and thing will sprout. a soil with no ferts. in it is the best. good luck
