24-0 to ?????

Ok so i have been giving my plants in veg 24/0. I heard it speeds up growth TRUE?

I jus got in my hps and i am now using it on them. i am growing in my closet in my room, i dont feel comfortable leaving it on 24 hrs plus its really brite....so beside 18/6 & 24/0, what other hours do you reccomend???

nothing but 18/6 :)

keep it at 18/6 and 12/12 for flowering dont change it.. pointless... just keep it like it is.. :)

happy growing and must agree turn them lights of for them 6 hours they'll thank you, and your bill will aswell... thinking of that u get more out of less energy than u getting out of more i would say, i hate 24/0.. maybe with cfls but no thanks with a hps... needs time to work that light :)

Thanks, yea i had cfl's for about a month thats y i did 24/0. Since my hps came in im just going to go with that.

Ino i would use clfs for veg and hps for flowering but its more simple to just do the hps......

20/4 is best in my experiments. I tried both out on the same strain and 20/4 worked alot better then both 18/6 and 24/0, 24/0 isnt good for vegging because it doesn't allow the plants to use up the energy it stores in itself while the lights are on. This inturn can actually make some strains grow slower. Also a HPS is typically used as a flowering light or 12/12 light cycle, If ur ready to flower then go ahead and go into 12/12, if ur still vegging remember to keep the light higher then the other lights u had which im guessing weren't HID lights, If they are to close to the plants u will cook the plants and recovery from that is worse then waiting for your STD results. Also look into getting some fans on it if u dont already have some, tempuratures are a problem with HID compared to florescent.

i think im going to try 20/4. how was it deffferent from 18/6 and 24/0?

Also yea i was using cfls. Now hps, Its about 18-24 inches from my plants and i also have one 12ich cooling fan

16/8... allready in flowering.. dont do it.

try the 20/4.. alltho evryone will tell you that 18/6 is the best option.
