20lbs CO2 Tank Gone In 4 Days ???

Noooo shit.... Finally broke down & did the co2 thing. Went out & purchased a 20lbs tank, co2 reg, hose, & an Atlas 7 Titan co2 controller. So, everything was going good I thought. I had the controller on 1000PPM. Had a hose leading around my 2ft enclosed light with 6 extentions that fell off around it leading down to top of plants. Co2 would kick on really only when I would come into the room & every now & then. Well that was 4 days ago & now no co2 ??? DAMN !!! I know there could be a lot of answers for this but I have a sealed room & my fan only exchanges air when I do it manually. My room is 5X11 & 8ft ceiling so not a big room & it stays around 75F. Thinking maybe it could be too many hose holes but I have the controller to stop it at 1000PPM anyway right? Or maybe the reg. was leaking but wouldn`t the glass stay moistured on the reg. all the time then? I do have a small heater that blows into the area but like I said my room is sealed so I`m thinking I`m good there too. The only other one I got is my controller just didn`t calebrate right but it looked as if it was pumping out co2 sparsley to begin with...??? Well guess I could use some opinions or better yet,,, answers ??? So bring`em on.

Be careful bro. I work around gases, and CO2 will kill you. Know the warning signs. Headache, nausea. Specialty with that volume of gas.

I`m not all there anyway but thanks for the heads up. Didn`t think it was too healthy to sit around & sniff that stuff.

1500 ppm will not harm you...it is apparently not well sealed at all...I run 5x5x9 high rooms with titan 3 controllers and a 20#tank is lasting 50 days on average

Any tricks I can do to check my regulator to see if its leaking? One of my buddys said dawn soap...??? Im still thinking thats the problem. Does anyone have some experience on how long a 20lbs tanks average life is?

see above...yes soapy water and look for bubbles...or if air is still in the room the smoke from and incense stick...also the smoke is an excellent way to find sealment problems in your room

spray bottle full of soapy water, you will see it bubble if there are leaks.

my guess i room is not sealed well enough, or the lights and ducting.

my next statement is plumbers tape around the threads on the co2 tanks threads.

well I guess I coulda been excited about running co2 & maybe I went in & out of my building a lil too much lately. So little everytime the door opens you can feel the suction of air,,,,so. But my room is completely seal with mylar & duct tape guys. Im telling you.

the tubing tip is lying on top of my minisplit ac's indoor unit's intake and then of course is blown down all over the room with the swinging louver...also have two fans on the floor and a dehumidifier blowing straight up through the plants

6000 watts perfectly sealed and my room eats up 50 pounds of c02 every 11 days.

tips: c02 is heavier then air and likes to sit on the floor and go under your door crack.

make sure your controller is getting proper air flow

put a box fan on the floor blowing air back up into the circulating air.

Seal your door with weatherstripping.

If your hoods are air cooled then you will probably have to seal them up with aluminum tape to keep them from sucking ga$ out of the room.

Make sure the c02 is being dispersed on the opposite end of the room of where it may be leaving.

Use lots of oscillating fans to blow the heavy gas around.
(more for the plants)

Grab a spare tank for when you run out. 50# tanks are the cheapest to fill and the aluminum ones are 105 pounds full. (carryable)

are you guys seeing a huge difference with the co2...i see plenty of people do fine without it and if you measure the co2 in an average house its actually higher than outside....

and how much does the co2 cost....at that 30 percent is it cost effective?? just gaining knowledge not trying to pick you apart..

That why I don't use one of those controllers. I have a formula that I use, it works. I doubt I'm wasting any CO2 and IMO if the air is 300ppm then anything 600ppm and up is going to be way better than nothing.

I get 20 tanks for $20ea. A 20 tank lasts me around 2-3 weeks depending on how I have it set. I have one tank and selenoid that feed my veg and flower rooms it only comes one when the flowering lights are on. My rooms are both 12X12 it works...

I just started co2 & no joke I could tell in a week the difference. Think I'm gonna get ride of the sniffer/controller & get a plain reader & timer. Anyone wanna buy a Titan atlas 7?
