Western mass has so many junkies. Like they go through peoples yards at night find crops and wait for them to finish and jack them. Espically up in the greenfield area and turners falls . Holyoke is awful you better off just not growing there unless your In the way outskirts

You’re in central mass believe it or not! At least for me. I can get to vt or ny in less than 20 minutes.
Im in the sticks. We have junkies, but they generally stay in more populated areas

I wouldn't be mad if you posted another pic or two with some more details of your set up. Or if you have another thread to direct me to...
no problem man ... I use the 4x8 grow tent for flowering ... in there I use (2) Timber Redwood VS lights, and for ventilation/temp control I use an 8" AC Infinity exhaust fan and carbon filter ... the light cycle in the flower tent is 11 hrs on - 13 hrs off

I also have a closet that I use for veg ... I have one level that's lit with (3) Timber Daisy's... and a lower shelf for babies and clones lit by (2) 4 foot T12 fluorescent lights ... I don't have any special exhaust in there, just a few small fans going to move air ... the lights in here stay on 18 hrs - 6 hrs dark

growing indoors is fun ... so much easier than growing outs, even in a greenhouse

I had to cut all my plants down earlier this week. They were beginning to get rot and the rain storm we had made it worse ,,,,didn’t want to lose more. Plus someone was on the property and walked right up to me while tending to garden and asked me questions. Told him to leave please but didn’t want to get robbed.
I had a person walk up to me yesterday questioning me about my marijuana.. Made me very nervous.. Weirdly he is a marijuana business owner and gave me some weed to try. He said it is his own strain, Boston Massacre.. Beantown Greentown in Lowell, MA

I have been having the weirdest marijuana luck lately... He is even bringing by some Acapulco Gold next week. I am honestly surprised I haven't had mines taken or had an issue... They are out in the open and everyone knows what they are..

what is going on around all you guys, do you all not carry where you’re at?You might be the third one this week to mention this.

round here you go to someone’s property you better walk up to the front door and ask permission. otherwise you’re likely to see steel or step on a bear trap.:hump:

Edit: talking to the census folk, they didn’t do so well. Lots of “get off my property” I guess:-P

I’m not gonna use a bear trap, but it’s not beyond some folks.

if I catch them stealing you stop them with some warning shots hopefully. I’m not gonna shoot someone over some weed.

guy down the road is a different story and aggressively defends his area.

I personally don’t get crazy, hell I don’t even lock my house up when I leave.
Lol I hear that.. warning shot good idea. I’m looking to buy out in your neck of the woods. I like sound of Athol bc it sounds like asshole haha. But in that area somewhere under Vermont with a long driveway in the woods and 2+ acres. Just picking ya brain

Had two druggies show JP here, I'd parked the car in the garage, one went behind the house to look for a way in, the other came around, my porch I heard noise thought it was the cat, in in the bedroom trimming when they started to rip the screens and window into my bedroom.
I called 911 and these two assholes knew I had a stash, but THEY had an ounce if cocaine, a high capacity firearm, loaded, large amount of heroin, syringes, first thing they did when they got here was pull my cameras down and throw them in their vehicle. Police were here in minutes, they tried to stash the coke on my porch, favorite memory?
Officer holds up big bag of coke and says, ' Excuse me, Mr. PVOG, but this wouldn't happen to be your LARGE BAG OF NARCOTICS, would it?'
No sir, I replied. They would not.
Sigh.
The assholes will come. I restrained myself that day, wasn't until later it sunk in, what if my wife was home alone in the shower? Then you think, ok, birdshot, buckshot, slug. Realistically, 911 becomes your friend, if you're legal like I was with amounts and grow size, they ask you to put a value of the property they were attempting to steal.
One of these fuckers is still wearing an ankle bracelet with stay away orders from my house.
I'm no snitch, when I was younger, maybe I'd have handled.things differently. And maybe next time I would as well. You have to gauge the level of immediate threat, and make a fast decision to counter force with 10x the force, especially if you are rural and response time is a.major factor. If the coo shop wasn't a.mile or two away, would things have been different?
Bet your ass.
Put my weed in danger and under the wrong circumstances, you get the bird shot.
Put my family in danger and under any circumstances, you get your card pulled.
Gotta be careful in all ways. Its dark, the neighborhood high school kid and his buddy get drunk and come to steal a plant, you can't shoot a kid.
There are lots of circumstances, and like I said, if you can, 911. If you can't do that, well then, you need me to come hook up your security.

I feel you with that rain, and almost did the same thing, especially since we were supposed to get more several days in a row. But that changed and although we got a couple damp days coming up, I think im gonna let it ride just a bit more brother.
I know quite a few growers that are on the exact same page as you around here, some started harvesting a couple weeks ago and a couple are hanging on, or chopping as we speak. but the rot is an enemy not to be played with.
You just can't mess with Mother Nature.
Thanks for your post!

I pulled my grape candy White Widow this evening: she was done and I’d like to stagger my plants a little. Hung her in the basement in sections; going to run out of room eventually and have to resort to shed, but hopefully by then it will be even cooler.
65F 61% humidity with the W.W. added.

Athol is still like an hour and a half towards central mass, ya'll don't know we exist out here!!!! Some of the cheapest taxes in the state though and beautiful quiet towns out here in the Berkshires. There is actually land down my road cheap for sale, but the neighbor has started a HOA for the couple of lots and makes it a nightmare to live in. He is the one who aggressively defends his illegal grow, so maybe there would be some room there? But again, probably outside the range you were thinking. With covid land and houses in town have almost doubled from a few years ago its sad. Big lots can still be had because people don't like to build, but even those prices are going up.

@PioneerValleyOG we don't have police in my town, I call 911 its going to take almost an hour for a cop to show. I run a business and when we get in trouble the cops call to ask us what is going on before bothering to come out. If we can work it out over the phone we do....and lets just say they've never felt the need to come this far out. We have some cameras, and between the dogs and our 2nd amendment rights I feel alright. I make the wife shoot a few times a year in the back yard so she's comfortable, the "home alone" scenario is one we both have thought of.

We have some cameras around the property, but they aren't to protect my couple of plants. Between that and the dogs though, I don't think anyones ever shown up and we didn't know. I'm also not worried about locals, it'd be more people from towns surrounding us.

What are some quick tips you might have?

I’ve been robbed before and I had the most evil thoughts running through my mind. I still want to write a book lol. Serious question tho, if you found someone stealing your shit, you’d shoot em? Then what? Bear trap broke a trespasser’s leg? Now what do you do? You’d be lookin at time. Don’t get me wrong I’d wanna do all of these things and more. I’ll give you a spoiler in my book— I throw his squirming body in the worm bin and use him as fertilizer next year.
should we be worried doug? lol

Paper bag is dry and may help draw some of the moisture out, But really its only going to go as low as your ambient RH in your house/room/intake air source so you've got to focus on that... but TBH 65% and no lower, sounds kinda like a good problem to have right now, thats a good RH to prolong drying, which is what you want to do... So Id let them go for the next 10 days like that, to be drying, shouldnt be in jars and shit until dry or you're going to dedicate the time to burping and rotating them every hour or two.

Once they've gone 10 days +/- you can start to worry about the jars and stabilizing of the nugs. Sounds like you need to find a dehumidifier for the nxt week though incase that starts to creep up, and so you can slowly drop it toward the end of the dry... I personally aim for 60%RH/60°F in my dry room, but usually have to aim for 65% because mine tends to drop too low (47-52%)
