working amazing. They do a great job.....the two boards combined are only 520 watts, but they put out a lot of light.

Is your set up all qb’s now are you using cobs as well?
I have a 3100w all quantum board room over 4 x16 ( two tables)with mixed spectrums (2700k,3000k,3500k)and the 4000k gives me the frostist, biggest best looking flowers..
I have another flower room (4 x 8)with a 630w,2de cmh,520w qbs,315w cmh and a 240w of Cree cobs that I only use in the winter ( it heats my garage).funny as the pics I just posted,is a plant directly underneath the double 4000k QBs..what spectrum are running in the flower room?

You've proven to me those LED's work well. I'm hoping to run a bit of a combo. Still keep a few DE's above the LED's. Maybe a dumb idea but might be a best of both worlds deal. Any thoughts anyone?

Hmm...pretty good.
I've got a plan to integrate the two light types with great control.
How close can those girls get to your quatums without any ill effects? Have you ever seen any issues being to close yet?

18 -24 inches is the sweet spot, but I’ve had them way closer with no ill effects, unlike those blurples which would bleach the flower white..

I see....pretty impressive really.
My sunblasters in veg never burn a plant even if they touch...much less powerful though. But it's nice that way...miss one too close and it not too bad.

Wow. That a huge bud there. I run the 3000k in that tent. I veg and flower with the same lights. I have noticed the plants don’t like it when their less the 15” away from the lights. I think it’s just too much light. Especially in the tent.....there’s a lot of photons Bouncing around in there..

I bought the 4K 65 watt veg light for my small veg tent I use for seedlings and clones and it does a great job as well.

I had bleaching one time but that was from the plant being about 6 inches from the QB 600-h. That thing is a beast though. Biggest buds I ever seen in my life with these things equal to any HPS I ever ran.

I'm looking online for a tent for a 4 plant rec grow. I found a bunch of different sites, but I don't know one from the other. Anyone with a good (cheap) source for tents, l.e.d. lights, etc? I found a 3x3 with a 800w led, fan, filter and timers for $649 (growindo.com). Should I go up to the 5x5? I've never set one up before and the guy who will be doing most of the growing is a complete newbie

I don't like that kit.

If I was going to put something together for a friend I would suggest this
Finding a 4x4 or 5x5 1680D tent is difficult at the moment as most of the main players for tents are sold out
https://www.growlights.ca
https://indoorgrowingcanada.com
https://www.mars-hydro.com/
I would use ebay and get a mars 5x5 tent for $209 with free shipping from Canada

6" Fan ,filter and fan controller combo $204.98 Get your ducting at home depot. The insulated ducting cuts down on noise from fans
https://www.growlights.ca/fans-filters-ventilation/fan-filter-complete-kits/6-inch-fan-filter-kit.html

Lighting is a controversial topic. Good LEDs cost lots of money. I think CMH are pretty cost effective
https://www.growlights.ca/growlights/ceramic-metal-halide-lights-cmh/g-star-square-wave-315w-cmh-ceramic-metal-halide-complete-kit.html?___SID=U $249.99 CAD
If he has lots of money he/she could look at HLG or ChilledLED to name a few manufacturers

Cheers

What would a mid-quality led light for a 5x5 cost roughly? I looked and they all looked the same to me. Would I need one or two? I'm chipping in, so if it's reasonable.... I think I prefer the led lights in a small space for safety. It's only a hobby garden so I don't want the cheapest, but I don't need the best.

You think those small boxed LED lights would be the safest things. Most are made with the cheapest drivers possible (That's the LED power supply) . They are also actively fan cooled. So if a fan fails the light starts to overheat.

The light I showed you is only 315w so it shouldn't heat up too much. It is probably safer than a mid range led. My belief is the drop off in quality of leds from the high quality to mid quality doesn't justify the price of mid range leds.

For good quality LEDs you should be paying around $1.25-1.50US a watt for 600w not including shipping.

I can't recommend the so called mid range LEDs as they aren't much more efficient than a CMH.

Check out http://ledgardener.com/ It's run by a Canadian
If you or your friend are handy at all think about building your own LED
