Thought I'd share a few pics, I've been helping a medical patient improve his set up. I used to garden back in the day long before the kids and wife but lately have found myself consulting for increasingly more people and in this case because the patient is unable to, I manage his garden as he is essentially my neighbor (cple doors down) So I've helped him dial in his room and finally produce something...decent . We got him set up with a few strains to start so we could find his proffered medicines. We got purple kush (a classic), as well as blue widow and Pineapple express. The blue widow appears ready this week as does the pk. it's the pk however thats prompted me to join and post. no surprise the flowers are turning purple and thats with out a temp drop but I noticed today while checking the amber trichomes % ratio that some, well quite a few are tuning purple as well, just the heads, Has anyone experienced this, it is a firs for me......here are some pics..

welcome limpy...
nice looking purple you have there....well done
Thank you very much, it's been years since I applied my green thumb. I'm fairly pleased with the results this far. They get taken down this week so it will be ten to twelve days before I can comment on the flavor and quality. Three full weeks of water, I can't wait to taste it.

2016-03-11 10.39.01 (1).jpg Just a little schwagg I got going in the moldy old schwagg farm.
Most of them fall over eventually by the time they are finished.
Some of them I try to tie up, other ones I just let fall down. They keep growing fine.

there's always a good reason they will bend....over...huge dense buds..which is almost never a problem...
but for a moldy swag farm...looks pretty good...
thanks a sneak peak.
Hey Dan just a quick question if you will, what's your thoughts on flushing ?

I believe good air movement stops mold issues. I have an 8 inch intake fan for both my intake and exhaust, both on speed controllers to keep a little negative pressure which contains the smell in the room. Cool tubes have an 8 inch fan also to try to keep temperatures in check, this also helps warm my house.

edit: I flush for approx ten days with straight water. I think if you go three weeks your yield may suffer because plants could consume that much more food during that extra week and a half, which is probably two feedings. Ten days gives me clean burning white ash and no chemical taste. I hit them with plenty of water three times in the ten days.

Myth...only necessary if over fed and your growing in soil/soiless mix

White ash is bullshit too...I feed right until harvest. But I reduce EC to approx half the peak EC in the last 2 weeks.

everyone will have differing opinions.
ever smoke black ash? probably not cuz it don't burn.....
So white ash is not 'bullshit'

sunshine mix #4 here. Never overfed enough to burn tips etc.

Your leaves turn yellow during the plain water feedings(flush) because the plant is consuming the food(fertilizer) stored in the plant.
And by 'flush' I do not mean adding ridiculous amounts of water, i mean feeding with plain water with probably 25% runoff.
I may be right, i may be wrong, but it works out well for me.

once a plant has been over fed...those metals will not come out.
The deal is to give it what it needs until it doesn't need anymore ;).

I agree that flushing is far from a myth.

I have always flushed 10 days straight though and never had black ash or burning issues.

Hello all i just wanted to say that im new here but not to hobby just been out of the game awhile.... but flushing your plants in the end of flowering will also help improve taste of buds making for a more smooth smoke.... just my input

Even over fed plants will still produce white ash...it is bullshit. black ash means the bud is still too moist to burn or something has been sprayed on the bud too close to harvest.
