LOL get some rest but you probably won't be able to forget about it completely. I think the KK will be high on my list next
year if I decide to do this again... What's the word on the LSD? That is the only bright spot in my grow, with some of the worst
weather I have seen my little LSD clone didn't get touched by mold. I mean this thing was a survivor, fell out of the pot
twice and the root ball was only half covered. I think I will be buying more fem. LSD this winter. You goin' anywhere
nice?

What up everyone? sorry about the delay, but i've been busy lately cleanin up gardens and trimming and such. I got some pics right before harvest on the 4th. I started seeing more and more mold popping up on the QT and the KK started getting a few spots of it so i decided to pull them. The Qrazy train really caught up in the last week or so , and i'm sure she would've put on some real weight had the weather been nicer, but she was getting hit the hardest with mold. still frosty stuff, and smells real sweet. Even though Its not at peak maturity, it still some dense buds. I did check some on them with the hand lens after the fact, and did see alot of cloudy on the Jack, but thats all i checked with the lens.(i'll get around to the others i guess, but it doesnt really matter of course, but i'll do it for a smoke report) ALthough i was able to keep them dry with the shelter, the forescast of a few more days of rain + the past few night had hard frosts in the 20's, so it was probably a good call. The Jack was definitely the heaviest, and i could barely fit it all and about half the QT in my hiking pack packing it in. Wish i could've given them a couple more weeks, but you gotta take what you can get before you lose it all, and i pushed them through some shit. the shelter held up in steady 20 mph winds with gusts up in the 40's + pounding rain . Ended up putting that up in the dark with one of my buddies that got me into growing, but she came out sturdy as hell. Ended up getting some bomb scissor hash of the KK, bubbled like bubble so sticky took me about ten minutes getting it off the razor blade and my finger. The jack tastes real nice and sweet as well. my gf says it tastes like sugar cookies. Just smoked a bud of KK that was just dry enough to smoke, damn, tasted just like the OG already.has that sweet fuely kush taste with a nice hash flavor. Looking like my favorite at the moment. Got a shitload or real nice sugar trim in the feezer right now, and gonna do some bubble runs of that within the next few weeks. Got some trim that has just dried out so im gonna sift that in my pollen box after i clean the screen with some isopropyl. sorry if im ramblin a bit, this kandy kush has got me lifted.

A fine grow but it is too bad about the mold. Deer season is here in N.E so it's scary having shit out there to be stumbled over. If it looks like a good spot for deer it looks like a good spot for weed. :peace:

Thanks man, yeah it was getting pretty sketchy with all the hunters around. a lot of deer around that spot, i've ran into a few on my way out. i found some teeth holes in my grow big jug, i think that was a bear.

Well, the white background in some of those shot's really let's the buds on your trees shine! You really did an amazing job this year Farmer, from what you know now would
you have done anything different? Seems like everything went to plan but the mold. I don't know if there is anything we can do about that though. Do you think the cover reduced
airflow and caused more mold than if it didn't have a cover? I am at a loss for next years selections and I have been looking hard since I got the ad from Attitude about the free
seeds and a chance to go to the Cannabis Cup. I held back 'cause all the seed giveaway's were late blooming varieties.

Hey puck, thanks for the kind words man. If i had to correct some things for this season i definitely would start them april 15th instead of May 1st, i think the extra 15 days would get them to flower a bit earlier and get them a bit larger. I'd still put them out around 1st week of june, so i wasn't far off that this season. I'd also amend the holes from last season that i used cause that definitely would've given me larger plants and a larger yield. I'm going to try to top twice next season, FIM top first at the 4th node, then by late june top again, hopefully this will bush them out real nice. I'll also move them further out into the clearing i'm working with to give them a few more hours of sun. Thinking about giving some smart pots a try for next season probably 20-25 gallon for more root space and amend the soil more with bone meal, and dolomite lime for sure( another big thing i would've added to buffer Ph). THe cover definitely helped keep them dry and gave me probably a week to a week and a half extra. Having the ends open and the sides up a few feet let the air pass through easily which was great for airflow and mold prevention, plus im sure being less resistant to the wind help it stay up through 40+MPH gusts. For next season I'm thinking about trying Ch9's herijuanna jack 33 which is supposed to be early flowering and gets pretty large (found a good grow vid of it on youtube), kandy kush had excellent mold resistance and is real frosty, some of the frostiest outdoor i've seen, and i'm also thinking agent orange from subcool due to the fact that it has orange skunk in it, and skunks tend to be hardier and handle moisture better than most.( plus i heard it performs well outdoors). critical sensi by delicious seeds is supposed to be a faster strain to flower, was thinking about that one last year. texada time warp and pinewarp are supposed to be excellent guerrilla strains. Mr. nice has an early pearl x skunk which is a fast finisher and does well in colder climates. many BC bud depot strains are bred for colder wetter climates, so i'd advise checking some of their stuff out. I've heard mixed reviews, but u never really know til you throw some of their beans in the dirt.

Jarred everything up today besides a slice or so that went up in smoke:joint:. heres how they weighed in:
Kandy Kush = 2.5 OZ 7g. Nicest stuff (most mature as well) definitely headstash.
Jack Herer= 4 OZ 5g. didn't get to fill out as much as i wanted, but still real nice stuff. yield wasn't bad either. I'm sure if i amended the old hole i put her in i would've made out a bit better as well.
Qrazy Train= 2.5 OZ 5 g. Real frosty, although not as frosty as the KK. alot of popcorn buds, but it was furthest from maturity. definitely coulda been some real weight if it had a chance to finish. Will keep ya posted on how it cures up.
also lost probably a quarter zip to mold more or less. definitely gonna sleep better now that its all jarred up

thanks no balls, appreciate it man. enjoy it man, its the part of the season where we reap the rewards. Im gonna check out your journal now. I'm halfway through a nice fatty of qrazy train as i type this. just jarred after 9days on the lines. smoke is already smooth and stoney. real nice body high with a slight heady high. Burns perfect with a nice white ash. great for nausea, pain, and anxiety i'd say. I've had a tweak in my back that been killing me most of the day, but after half a joint i can't feel the pain and i can barely tell there is a problem with it. definitely creepin on me a bit.

What a treat to find this thread. I'm in the PNW and also harvesting far ahead of "recommended" thanks to mold. Trimmed until it was clear it would have nothing left with "ideal" conditions.

Early smoke gives an energetic uplift, so the grow wasn't in vain. Good for focus and energy, but not pain. Not sure if that's ever in the same strain anyway. Very hard to get it right growing outdoors in northern climates, but can see where tweaking will make it better.

mold has definitely been the real limiting factor, lucked out this year and didnt get a hard frost til around OCT 6th or 7th. I like an energetic uplifting all day smoke. The kandy kush is hardhitting though, good in small doses. They all seem to have their own high curve though.

I haven't had any mold issues. I have 6 plants left to harvest. I have one, my biggest plant thats way behind the others. I'm going to leave her as long as I can. I also have a long spindly sativa with pink buds. She's gonna take a while as well. I'll post pics on my thread as I go.

I have read up on the EPxskunk and seen mixed reviews. I was thinking about Delicious seeds Frosty Chronic Juice Fem. The advertisement sounds pretty good. I just
don't have much experience/hear much about some of the seed companies on Attitude Seed Bank. I think I can get away with something that flowers into the first
week of October so I probably have more options than you.

nice read! looks like you know what your doing up there. seemed like you were micro managing the nutients a bit. why did you go for liquids intsead of the slow release? just wondering. great grow! primo buds! good luck to you in the future.

thanks gorilla, i would've used slow release nutes, but i only wanted organic, so i just topdressed with indonesian bat guano every three weeks or so in flowering. i'll prob give them slow release earlier in veg next year, but still just topdress in flower. maybe experiment with some compost teas as well.

sorry for the noob question, but im an indoor grower coming out of the closet ;) can you explain to me how that tent/greenhouse youre running allows your plant to have a lot of light? im looking to set something up like this next season, just want to know the benifits of a greenhouse/tent

In my situation, i like to keep them uncovered til the weather starts getting rainy and cold, and the buds have densed up. It allows me to keep them out a few more weeks by keeping the rain off the buds, i.e- preventing mold, budrot, botrytis, powdery mildew, whichever way u want to slice it. ITs only 4 mm plastic and it lets a lot of light through, the intensity of the sun makes the impact of the plastic on light minimal. If ur gonna set up a greenhouse or covering, just make sure u have adequate airflow to keep humidity down, and i like giving my ladies space around them so the buds aren't rubbing on the plastic, and just for better flow and less air resistance through the tent. If u put a tent/greehouse up for the majority of the season though, ur gonna have to do more watering most likely cause u aren't gonna get rain.
