ahoy!
12 plants all afgooey, I could throw my trainwreck in there, but thats kind of Yin and Yang If you know what I mean.

Greenhouse- 20'x30'x10', hoophouse style

This is my first time posting a thread so forgive me if I suck. What Im looking for is insight into my grow from others that have helpful information. I am in no way new to growing mary but an outdoor operation will be new to me. I have been growing indoor now for the past 6 years and feel very confident indoors. Now that I have finally gotten the land to branch out I want to hit it with as much info as possible, so I would love advice. THAT MEENS U FDD.

Heres the basics. Each plant will be bedded directly into the ground in a 3'x3'x3' hole. This hole will be filled with 30% Of SUBCOOLs super soil mix for the bottom (8.1 cubic feet), and 60% foxfarm ocean forrest. (ill also be adding some perlite, diatomic rocks, polymer crystals, and mychroiezy)

This mix will require that I get 3 full pallets of ocean forrest, and I plan on mixing SUBCOOLS recipe with black gold organic (its so much cheaper than OF at $1300 a pallet)

My questions are: Will a 27 cubic ft hole per plant be overkill (thats 201 gallons) ? my friends at the grow store say I should go the extra mile and do it 4x4x4' but you know how they can be. The biggest container I ever grew in indoors was a 25gallon and that was huge. And then I had to get rid of all that dirt!
Also, if anyone could shed some light on spacing as far as outdoor grows in a hole this size, currently each plant will have 5ft on either side (plus walking space)
I guess Ill just start it off there and post more questions/concerns as I go Thanks for reading and hopefully any insight you have on either greenhouses, large volume container gardening, or anything else you might feel would apply to my situation. Oh yeah the surrounding soil is god awful high desert rocky munition sand, And this will be an all organic grow any questions will be gladly answered

how is the native soil? i'd just buy a roto tiller. if your not in rock or anything like that. add some of this and that. till the whole garden.

5 feet apart should work.

Thanks FDD for the reply. Ireally love your garden. Anyways the soil is bunk were at 4,800 feet in the rocky mountains I have a sample coming in the next 2-3 days that will be getting tested, but its looks pretty bleak. I plan on tilling in some of the native soil just to fill the cracks. But from what ive heard from some of the OG's of the area is that its very difficult to grow in. how much potting soil was tilled into your garden from the video, and how deep did you go?

i went about 2 feet down. i tilled it then raked it away and tilled again. i added perlite, clay amender and potting soil. i think 3 bags of perlite and at least twice as much soil. i throw all my used indoor soil in the as well. plus my compost and fireplace ashes. :hump::weed:

Thanks for the insight mygirls! So I went and placed an order for my soil amendments today want to get the hot-soil recipe cookin soon.

420lbs pure worm castings
90lbs bone meal
90lbs blood meal
90lbs fruit bat guano
90lbs kelp meal
100lbs greensand
40lbs azomite trace minerals
40lbs epsom salt
40lbs dolomite lime

I will be mixing these into 160 cubic feet of BG organic soil, or possibly whitney farms uncle malcolms organic soil to help cut the cost.(I have never used this soil before, If you have an opinion on it I would love to hear it). This will be cooked in the sun for 30-50 days and then added to the bottom 30% of the holes, then topped with a soil mix using FFOF and tons of Mychroiezy, and whatever else I have lying around (perlite, peat....) Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
