I never said they werent dangerous. As a matter of fact I said they are very capable dogs.

I dont feel like starting a new thread.

Myth One - Pit Bulls are just born mean. This is no truer than any number of stereotypes applied to humans and the color of their skin. Pit Bulls are "bred" mean by irresponsible breeders and then sold to irresponsible owners. In 2002, the American Pit Bull was tested, along with 121 other breeds, in temperament. On average, other breeds ranked 77% on the scale that measured inherent "meanness." This means that on average, only 23% of the dogs tested were pre-disposed to having a bad attitude. The American Pit Bull ranked in the 95-percentile, meaning only 5% of those tested had attitude problems at birth.

close window

Myth Three - American Pit Bulls are naturally aggressive toward humans. There is only one response to this "truth" - BULL! American Pit Bulls, like their terrier cousins, are aggressive toward other dogs. But aggression toward humans was bred out of the American Pit Bull long ago. Any "natural aggression" toward humans is most often attributed to bad breeding and irresponsible owners.

Myth Four - The American Pit Bull can suddenly "turn" on people. Again, this is simply false. The American Pit Bull, like ALL DOG BREEDS, does not just "turn" on humans. Any aggression is always preceded by some kind of warning. There is always a reason behind any attack. The reputation of "turning" on their owners can usually be attributed to an inexperienced owner not recognizing, or ignoring, the warning signs.

Myth two was nothing more then the "locking of the jaw" myth. I didnt feel that was rellevent.

The pitbull IS indeed a very dangerous dog BECAUSE OF ITS CAPABILITY. They require attention and if not raised properly, they CAN indeed be dangerous.

Denial? Now you're just judging.

Dogs are very similar to people in that how they are raised will have a great effect on how they act/socialize with others. I have a good friend that swears by his pits. They are both pulling champions...he puts them in competitions to see how much weight they pull. They are excellent guard dogs because they bark and look very deadly when looking over his gate, but if anyone even a 1st timer comes through the house especially with him the dogs are both big puppies yet killers if need be. I cringe everytime Im there and his 7 year old nephew is running around and in the pool with the dogs. Yes his pits jump in the pool and love to swim with the kids...

a page or two back my dog was the reason for all this pitbull talk. I enjoy hearing from experts. In light of the dog bashing he is an exception to the rule. From chewing on rocks he has broken all of his teeth and grinded the rest... Lots of bark though....Besides he is an american staffordshire terrier/// his girlfriend is a APB razorsedge.....

but howbout you scroll back a page or two and someone actually comment on my plants and not the dog....

So I grew 3 types this year.

Starting from left to right.

Early girl. They grew fast and furious. About 6 feet high and about 6 ounces per plant. Harvested Aug 5! dried about 7 days and went into the jars. Tried her out for the first time on the 24th of the month. Nice stoney high. Long lasting and smooth with average crystal coverage, a typical "early".

Durban Poison. about 8 feet tall and roughly 8 ounces per plant. Harvested Sept 22. Jarred up on the 30th. Smoked for the first time on the 1th of this month. Super potent. Long lasting and a real kick in the face. Gets your really really high :) crystal content is off the charts!

Lemon Joy. averaged 10 feet! harvested Sept 30th. jarred oct 6th. First tested this morning. Not quite done, but gets your nice and high. Hearty sativa high, really nice colors, pale green and covered in crystals. 8 ounces per roughly

was a very productive year despite all the rain, the durban will be repeated next year, but I am going to try a more potent early strain and a Frostbite a friend grows.

til next spring!

How was the Early Girl growing experience? I'm thinking about doing an early strain myself, and when did they go in the ground to harvest Aug 5? That is the perfect timetable for me.
