2000W enough to red flag me?

Highly unlikely if you pay the bill. My computer peaks at 1000 watts when I play games.

Only a high spec computer hits 1000 watts(and i mean high spec, generally not store bought either). But no, 2000W shouldn't be an issue

yup, my computer runs at almost a thousand when i'm making music recording tracks.

but you gotta look at it like a business.
the electric company is a business like any other, as long as you dont fall behind on the payment they have no reason to look at you.
its not like there sittin there "hold on, this guy is buyin too much of our shit, we need to call the cops"
haha

So I started growing and when I did I changed all my bulbs in the house to CFL's and just kinda tried to reduce consumption a bit. I run a total of 796 watts for growing and my light bill has actually gone down. Run around your house and figure out how you can conserve a bit and 2000w will barely be noticeable to even you.

i thought i had always heard the rule of thumb that one thousand watts per bedroom is ok, anything over that and you run a risk of getting noticed by power consumption over that.. so if you live in a two bedroom home, two k should be just fine without raising any flags to the power company..

Like I said I reduced my consumption substantially after I started growing so look around and see how much you are wasting.

If you have them on a 12/12 schedule youd used around 720 kwh's. My last bill was for 2500 kwh's, and theres nothing even growing here. Just saying =)

My last electric bill was 340kwh...my next one will be a bit higher due to the 1000W running for the last couple weeks. It's the quick jump from using 300-400kwh to using 1000kwh that scares me. But I've been talking to a lot of people about it, and I've heard of way crazier setups than mine running in smaller places, and they all say the same thing...pay your bill and you're good. So that, I shall do. Thank you all for making me a LITTLE less paranoid. :P
