2000 watt ebb an flow -- Himalayan Gold

Hey everyone, been lurkin for a while an decided to set up a journal on my first larger grow.

The strain is Himalayan Gold from GHS, of 5 fem seeds, 3 survived seedling stage. After a month an a bit they're lookin good, a T5 fell at one point and burned the 2 smaller mothers, but the largest one is very healthy and the others have recovered. Also I have 1 unsexed plant of Catpiss that I am going to sex and hopefully have to clone.

The setup is a 4'x8'x7.5' flower room built within a 9.5' x 10' room, and the closet of the room used for the mothers. I just finished construction of the grow room frame which is holds 2 4'x4' ebb and flow tables, and has a rack on top for hanging, I am putting black/white poly on this to make it air/light tight. It is a hydroton bed grow, no pots at all, with 2"x2" rockwool cubes as the medium. 2 oversized rubbermaids for resevoirs. 2x 1000 watt HPS lights with cooltubes above, and I plan on adding another 600 watt MH later with tank CO2 as well. Nutrients are the Advanced Nutrients Micro/Grow/Bloom and Herbud 420. Of course a 500CFM carbon filter as well with 2 inline fans and 2 oscilaters.

I'm hoping to raise my yields by having the room the same size as the table pretty much, I think that was pretty key in SeeMoreBuds 15lbs in 80 days. My goal is to get at 1.25 pounds per light this harvest, hope fully 1.5 or more if i can dial in the CO2 at 600w MH in time depending when I can get that setup.

At the moment I still have a couple things to pick up from the local shop, and I still have to figure out my cloning technique, Im kinda testing it out with a few clones first to see what roots them fastest, and then Im going to clone the rest of em.

Pics:
The clones im currently testing, one in a solution of rooting powder, the other in a rockwool cube with rooting powder. The smaller plant is the unsexed Catpiss.

The mothers in the closet, the empty space is where Catpiss was until we found aphids on it, so we took him out and got rid of them, but are keeping him seperate for a few days to make sure.

The whole room, the room itself was made with about 40$ worth of 2 by 4s, we decided to make it all cause those tents are way expensive and dont really custom fit our needs.

Heres the discussion link, please post comments there.

Im starting the cloning process, here's a picture of 12
that are in the very warm cabinet under my sink, theyre
in rockwool cubes in the popcans, theres an ice cream
pail of water there to raise the humidity in there a bit.

I think I'm going to put 28 plants in one 4x4 table, and
14 plants in the other one to see what yields best.

Also do to logistical issues Im using 3x 600watt hps
lights for a total of 1800watts instead of 2x 1000s.

Besides that Im on schedule, I'm hoping to have 42 nice
healthy clones in 2-3 weeks all ready to start.

Peace

Neat idea: ice cream

Have to keep checkin in to see how this goes for you. I'm loving the low tech bits you're using. Back to the basics is always a good idea.

I agree. +rep I am now going to germinate the Nirvana WW under the sink with whatever container I can find ;) Since I dont have a planter thing.

So more clones have been taken now, so far about 12 have rooted, and another 26 or so are goin healthy. Do to MORE logistical issues im switching back to 2x 1000w Hortilux bulbs with cooltubes and carbon filt. Also put in a blower bringing fresh air from another basement room into the room through ducting, though in a few weeks that'll be closed off to add CO2 :)

I'm trying to get pictures up but cant find that damn usb cable for the camera, will post as soon as that situation is resolved.

great idea framing around the tables by keeping all the light in you most definitely will increase your yield. be good idea to keep top open for venilation atleast till u get your co2 cause it will get hot

what a frickin cool grow setup.

lots to learn from this one...beginners should be taking notes...and i'm enjoying a refresher course on the basics of what plants need...no need to pay a bunch or get the latest gizmos

Okayyy, so finally got all 42 clones rooted + 1 mother plant we didnt bother cloning under 1000w and 2 T5s, i'll be switching the other 1000w on after xmas sometime. It's all hanging pretty sturdily, and the inline exhaust fan plugs right into the blower for ease, there are 2 resevoirs with 2 timers on every 2 hours for 10 minutes. There isn't a hint of plant in the air with the carbon filt, but a bit of a melted plastic smell once in a while, which i am tracking down, possibly its ductape on a reflector. The PH is 5.7 an PPMs are at 400 right now in each rez with just micro and grow formulas added to it, I'll be using Neem Oil soon for bugs and plan on flowering on new years eve. There are zipper walls each opposing side that can roll up so i can access the plants.

Also on when we start flowering we are going to close the room completley and run 1500ppm co2. the current goal is 3 pounds at the end. I think its easily possible, and we hope to fine tune it to get 5 pounds as we go, (water/air temps, humidity etc etc)

Please let me know what you think an where you think it could improve, thanks an peace out

heh sorry to yall who're talkin about the low tech cheap ways before, but i decided to just throw a few thousands down an do it right the first time why not eh?

Lookin like a solid growroom setup, I like the cooltubes with carbon filter attached, an those zipperwalls are pretty sick where do you get those at? When you add in your co2 I think 4 pounds should be easy with this setup

hey, the zipper walls go for about 12$ each at home hardware.

we just had a small spidermite scare, saw them on the big plant, we've been spraying with diluted neem oil every couple days for a week or so now, and will continue to spray neem until the 3rd week of flowering.

Happy New Year!

Here are some new pics of the family. As you can see, the previously hanging one has been moved down onto the table so it can enjoy some of those nutes there. We're still trying to decide when to flower, probably anywhere from tonight to 2 days from now at this point.

They are all from 6 to 9 inches tall now, except for the exceptions of 4 tiny clones that we just threw in anyways (but are trying to make up with using the massive plant)

The nutes in each resevoir are running at 1400ppm now, and a 6.3 PH, every 3 days or so the Ph gets up to 6.7 and ppms up to 1800 we add 5 gallons of water to each 35 gallon rez and that dilutes it down to 1100, then we put the nutes up to 1400ppm again and let it repeat, we're still figuring out our cycles, but its looking a LOT better then before, there is clear nute burns on the lower leaves of all the plants, but the top halves of them are all nice and BRIGHT green now (I dont know about you guys but my plants glow in the dark, could be the neem?)

As for the spidermites, 1.5 weeks of spraying it all down with neem twice a day, every second day it looks like they are all gone, we've cut back on it a bit, but are still going to spray every 3 days to make sure they dont come back, this stuffs great, completely organic!

So the plants are looking extremely healthy now, with full 2000watts on them for 20/4. I plan on flowering them tomorrow, so today I thoroughly sprayed all of them down with a strong solution of Herbud 420, which I will repeat in 2-3 weeks to get some massive buds (i hope?)

also just for my reference later on, we added in 2 air pumps to aerate the resevoirs up good today.

Pictures. They've grown a shitload since we turned both 1000 watters on 3 days ago an started flowering, and the big one is also doing extremely well. Also with the pictures theres a diagram showing the layout of my garden phenotype/LST wise.

Enjoy, and give me some feedback people!

EDIT: in the diagram, those 4 FIMed plants didnt work, guess i fucked up the FIM part somehow, so I just topped em like the rest now.

Here's a picture of the setup we used to root all of these when they were clones back in december, We had some under the sink for a while, but after taking many more we needed more space and used this big tub with water on the bottom to raise humidity, and all the plants in individual containers that also had a little water in them to keep everything wet and humid.

Nutfoot, looking very good, my friend.

I'd highly recommend taking that larger plant outta there - that's just begging for trouble and to fuck up your yield.

BTW, any chance that you could post a link for those zipper walls? I've been contemplating building a tent (already have two Sun Huts, but I need a "custom" size), and the only downside that I could think of was not being able to have those zippers.

Also, have you ever used a "real" tent? If so, any differences or anything like that you can think of?

Thanks.
