YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - Authorities in Yakima County have busted a marijuana growing operation near Mabton, southeast of Yakima.

Sgt. Rick Beghtol of the lower Yakima Valley's drug task force estimates the operation involved 20,000 plants. Several thousand plants were found in a drying shed.

Beghtol says three people were arrested Friday morning when the Sunnyside SWAT team raided the house. Two other men escaped into a cornfield.

Officers seized four firearms, including a sawed-off shotgun.

In the past couple of months, drug agents in Yakima County already had pulled up 54,000 marijuana plants before Friday's bust.

All the world's naturalists missed 125,000 gorillas.....but the feds found 20,000 plants?
Seems like a misappropriation of funds.

I know someone who was shot at by a farmer for going in a corn field on a 4 wheeler. no pot involved. wouldn't put it past a pot farmer. then you also have to worry about pigs staking it out.
