2 x 4 Lighting for Flowering with QB Elite v2

Hi,

I am at the beginning stages of my first grow. I have a 4x8 t5ho, which I bought a few years go for starting vegetable seeds indoors, and have used that the past month. I had to buy a 2x4 tent, because the lights were keeping me awake. I initially intended on growing with minimal tent space and planned on using a 2x2. Therefore, I ordered a QB elite v2 for flowering. If I were to flower in the 2x4 instead, what supplemental led lighting would you recommend in addition the QB elite v2 with an hlg 185 54b?

That sounds like the best idea. I was debating between adding 4 QB120's at 2700k using a an Hlg 240 H C2100 or another qb elite 96 v2. I plan on turning the 2x2 into a vegetative tent with two 6500k cobs being driven with a dimmable 150 W driver.

6500K is really red heavy, probably too much. Indicas tend to grow to tight nodes already with 5000K. 4000K is were ive seen most people settle after trying higher CCT. We do 3000k all the way. But each to their own...

You mean "blue heavy"!
Warmwhite = more red = lower kelvins.
Coolwhite = more blue = higher kelvins

Thanks, I won't do 6500 then. Hopefully after this first grow I will truly understand the concepts and techniques that I have been researching online. Currently I have seedlings of white widow, jack herer, and a seedling from a bag of sour diesel. Can you recommend any particular indica strains with the best genetics for growing indoors while using topping and scrog?

For best yield try Chronic or WhiteRussian from SeriousSeeds, Warlock is also top. For top shelf quality try OG Kush, SensiStar from ParadiseSeeds is also very good. Their Wappa is also pretty good and mostly indika.
When you like old school genetics NothernLights is ~75% indika but yields pretty good and its still a strong smoke. I would visit strainfinder.org or another plattform with strain reviews and shopping links. Its the easiert way to find a particular strain IMO.

Im not overly fan of indicas but Kushes seem to be the ticket for most people. Indicas are very suitavle for sea of green, but can also be trained/topped/scrogged. Im usually more carefull with topping/defol/high stress training with feminized seeds, but all of that is allways strain dependent.
Also, id listen more to Randomblame than myself, he has tons more experience than me.

The grow op im part of mostly grows Amnesia Haze, from clone. We do this cause there is literally always a market for it and we never have problems moving it. Its not my favourite smoke, i dont like smoke that make me feel "disconnected" or couchlocked. But smell and bagg appeal is hard to beat.
For my self i often grow sativa leaning autos on my balcony. My favorite smoke ever was a Blue haze from dynafem (i believe) that we grew out 2 years ago outside and left it all the way till the end of october to ripen. The high was a full body, but active and no couchlock. Like a sun inside your chest that made you smile constantly remindjng you of those first giggly times on weed from my youth. Very nice smell.
All my friends kept on asking me about it.

To be totally transparent I’ve never used their seed. I have Alien Rift and Jawa Kush entering the country as we type though. At least I hope I do?

Do you have any particular advice on autos? I hear that you should not transplant or top, but I have also heard the opposite.
