This one broke thru 13 days ago....
The leaves curled up in the last 24 hours but don't look that bad...
Been leaving it out in the sun for most of the day then bringing it in at night under some CFL's...

How is she doing?
What causes the leaves to slightly curl up like that?
Is the color okay?
Is 2 inches in 13 days ok?

Looks good to me tommy.

The only thing i would be concerned about is the possibilty of pests by bringing it in and out in and out and also whether there would be any stress from leaving this plant in the sun and then under some CFL's

other than this its looking good mate the curling you are refering to is probably just the plant getting used to the differences in light intensity that you are subjecting it to.

If it stays healthy like this, would it make the plant stronger getting used to the extremes ??

To be honest tommy i dont know as i have never tried and i dont intend to.

Either indoor or outdoor in my opinion never both.

I dont disagree that the sun is better than artificial lighting but in the UK the weather is that unpredictable that i dont want to risk growing outdoors as i have more control over the environment indoors.

For instance this is our summer here now and the temps today didnt get any higher than 17C/63F

But then a few weeks ago it hit 27C/80F

So i like indoors.

Just my opinion

BUt then i also use a dual spectrum HPS not a flouro.

Don't think I was hinting that the sun is better or floros are worse. Just decided to try and grow this one both outside and inside. But from what I've observed, she DEFINITELY likes the outside more. :hump::hump:

cheers

i wasnt saying you were hinting bro. its also a very good sign that you are reading articles such as this.

i wonder whether wayne had tried this with HID or just flouros?

i like flouros for starting my seeds i use a 24w T5 6400k for around 10 days on 18/6 then switch to a 200w ECO CFL until i feel the time is right for my 600w dual spec HPS my plants love this light!

when you get your green thumb get yourself an HPS you will never take them outside again.

LoL. I actually emailed him and asked him that question. Still waiting for an answer.
The guy seems to know his gardening stuff.

I've got a switchable 400w kit on the way... supposedly takes both types of bulbs. And it's a cool tube design (which I've heard are a bit easier to manage heat with).

yes they are as long as you have an inline fan and ducting and are able to duct the hot air away from your grow room.

Which is why i can't wait to do a Guerilla grow. Should be interesting

Standard. So why not do a completely outdoor grow? May as well with all the stress the plant is going through, plus all the effort on your part keep hauling it back and forth. Give it a week or so hardening off then let it fend for itself in the great outdoors. IMO

First of all, nobody can definitely state that there is significant "stress" that a plant goes through going inside/outside all the time.. unless you know something I don't.
Second, not everyone can grow an MJ plant that's 5 feet tall outside their homes or on their balconies/porches. Legally.

haha i wish we could all grow 10 foot plants.... would make life so much easier. i really wish i could grow outdoors. if my plants were where the damn tamatoes are in the front yard they would be kicking so much ass.

Fair enough, but imo it would be best to leave a plant inside throughout it's life cycle unless you are acclimatising it to outdoor conditions before it is eventualy planted out permanently outdoors. Like Jon said either outdoor or indoor.

it looks like it growing at the same rate as my two smaller plants in my grow box.

heres my fast growersnapshot(5).jpg that was planted on july 4th so..19 days from seed under 201watts of cfl(191watts of 2700k cfls and 10watts of 6500k) in a space that is shared with two others.(that are a lot smaller even tho the were planted a the same time)

she grow really weird tho.. she has a set of 6 leaves a set of 4, some sets of 3, and some 5, but she has started sending three leave sets out of each node now which is creepy but pretty friggin awesome at the same time

i just hope shes a female.
(srry bout webcam picture but its the best i can do for now)
