Hey guys, I have one really big plant that is almost 2 weeks into flowering. It is in about a 3 gallon pot. The problem is, it is drinking SO MUCH water, that it is barely enough to water it every 24 hours. If I go 36 hours it is TOTALLY wilted. I've almost lost it once now due to that exact issue. I have a 5 gallon pot that I want to repot it in, with some more dirt, but I am using Fox Farms soil. Since it has nutrients, are my plants going to get nutrient shock? I'm also using Fox Farms nutrients, following the feeding guide that comes with them. My plant obviously needs some more room to hold some more moisture.. Any help would be appreciated. (you can see some semi-recent pics of my plants in this post: https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-plant-problems/525605-my-plant-enormous-what-can.html but it is quite a bit bigger now.)

transplant up to a 7gal pot, or something. the shock of re-potting will not be as bad as the shock of root-bound water issues. just be gentle. i like 10gal totes.

How much run off with each watering? how long has it been in that pot?

Photos would help but as Scrog says, transplant shock is not as bad as rootbound.

I'm not worried about the stress of transplanting it, rather I'm worried about adding new Fox Farms dirt (that has nutrients in it) and then continuing to use my fox farms nutrients. Won't that oversaturate my plant with nutrients? You can see some pictures of my plant from a little while back at this thread : https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-plant-problems/525605-my-plant-enormous-what-can.html . I am having LOTS of runoff... doesn't seem like the dirt is able to hold any moisture.

Check how rich the soil is - EC is written on the bag and the NPK amount. Whenever u transplant u should back off the nutes and use a root complex like Rhizotonic for a few days. New soil contains nutes so avoid for a while depending on how strong it is.

if your worried about the dirt having nutes in it you could always give fill the 5 gallon bucket with the fox farm dirt to where you need to transplant then flush the shit out of it, that should get most if not all the nutes out of it, unless they are time release like miracle grow. Then you can just feed it your fox farm nutes and not worry about frying your lady. As long as your very very careful with the roots when you transplant you should be fine, if you were farther along into flower it wouldn't be advised to transplant. I had to cut my pots off to transplant just today because the roots were virtually fused to the bottom of the pot and I couldn't shake it loose. Pair of snips gets the pot off from around the root ball easily.

Sounds like ur not watering them enough. Are laces going yellow and falling off? Give a generous amount of water which should last 2 days. Watering everyday u shouldn't have to do. I had same problem. I just over watered them and they came on fine.

I'm definitely watering them enough... 2-3 gallons of water every day... And i'm doing it very slowly to make sure the water completely penetrates the dirt (and doesn't just run down the sides.) I'm going to attempt transplanting now.. wish me luck! I'll take before and after pictures and post the results. I just realized this is really going to be a bitch.. i got my plant all tied down to the pot. Oh well!
