2 week olds slowly gettin yellower and yellower

This could very well be nut burn. Are you feeding them any amount of nitrogen? If not do you know the npk of the soil mix youre using?

update: dunno what to do with the dying one and the other photo is my best one but not progressing much

start more plants with new soil (keep the current healthy looking ones alive and see how they do ). just kill the worst looking ones and replace em with new ones. the plants you have now are only 2-3 weeks in and are pretty stunted so its not a big loss if they die imo. if the problem truly is the soil and you do everything right you can have plants 10x bigger after 2 weeks of veg instead of the current ones just beginning to recover and take off.

thanks for your help.
ive bought some seedling starting mix soil and may try some new plants in that but was also wondering if i can start the plants in rockwool cubes and then just put the plant in the rockwool cube straighht into a soil mix? i needa better way of gettin them to 3 week old stage without any deficiencies/stunt of growth or dying leaves.
ill take sum photos of the remaining plants and see what youse think of them.

theres a few more i still have to take photos of

too much nutrients...you need to use nutrients every 3 waterings and a small amount with a plant that size...looks like its been nut burned.

here is a pic of my seedling at 12 days, the smaller one is about 4 behind them, hope this helps. :leaf:

OG KUSH00 : if i can get my plants lookin like yours within even 21 days ide be amazed!!
ima gonna try new soil n flouros for sum new seedlings while leaving the old ones under the hps as per norm. hopefully the newies take over .

watt wattage cfl should i use would 2 48watters b ok? just for say 4 seedlings

and ive also picked up a quad two foot flouro reflecter n light kit from a mate which im gonna try also

I second what jats says.. I had the same happen with FFOF, then started new seeds in plain (no nute) seed starting medium (super fine perlite and peat) and up, up and away, little girls don't need ANY nutes until about the third/fourth week.

I would say they are a little to small for the hps.I do not use mh until they are a little bigger.Your not pissing in the cup thinking it is going to grow monster buds are you?LOL

hey all ive just tested the ph of the water ive been using and it seems to read around the 7 mark. could this be a contributing factor to em goin yellow and how do i adjust the ph of the water?

quik edit just checkd ph of soil and sitting on the line between 5 and 6 im readin it as being 6

Voyz, a few things stand out to me and possibly being the issue.

1. I would not use a HPS light at this stage, while that light will definitely grow the plant, it is meant for the budding/flowering stage. Instead, you would want to use a MH bulb. Right now I actually have 2 little seedlings that are under a small 24" fluorescent lamp and they are doing good. You want to keep the fluoro about 2" from the top of the plant.

2. You just mentioned the ph, awesome that you checked that! I have found that ph levels being far off can cause many types of different issues with plants. Soil medium usually helps filter out some ph issues you may have with your water.

I think these 2 things are the first in trying to recoup these little ladies and get them back on the right track!

Good luck buddy! :leaf:

Sorry forgot to answer your ph question after all of that...if you want to alter your ph w/ simply solutions you might have at home you can use Vinegar to lower and Baking soda to raise the ph level of the water before watering your plant.

You don't want to add too much at one time as you'll see that the ph will change very easily with the addition of these products.

I try and keep my ph between 6.5-6.8, but as long as your around these areas you probably won't have a problem.

Good luck!:leaf:

you need to get your soil ph to 6.8 7.0 or u will get nute lock out flush with water ph 7.3 7.5:leaf::leaf::bigjoint:

I had the same thing happen in a DWC setup I was using once, and it was all a result of the water PH being too high. Things work a bit different for hydro vs soil though, so I can't say for certain if that is the entire issue you are having.
I think you are overdoing it with HPS lights on seedlings though. You'd be better served grabbing a couple of CFLs to use on them until they have at least a few more leaf sets coming off. It doesn't take much extra heat to fry a seedling.
