hi all, nub grower here, lol but i know the basics, well almost..... lol

I had 2 vegging plants, no idea what strain or sex...as its bagseeds then its pot luck *great pun huh lol*

BUT, these 2 plants ...one grew much bigger than the other, and they both germinated at the same time in the exact same conditions, they both had i think 5 or 6 nodes in height, so i topped both and the big one went absolutly crazy ....started developing lots of nodes on all the *branches* and its growing like a lunatic...thats on only 70 watts of CFL for 19/20 hours a day, its even started developig nodes near where its seed leaves were...... but it hasnt got hardly any scent at all, to be honest when you rub the stem near the top it smells like nettles lol

But heres the thing, the smaller one really smells good.....every time the nodes make new leaves or branches it stinks, well it smells all the time but sometimes it reallly hums, its small....only about 14 inches tall maybe at a guess, but its been growing on less light than you would reccomend for a fast grow ...less intense not less hours

This grow was only a joke to start off, just did it for a laugh......but now im into it lol!!

the plants are almost 3 months old, so i gave one to my freind LOL i gave him the big one...... do you think i may have just made a big mistake?
I kept the little one because it smells good.....

and i read here the plants do not develop the hormones to be male or female untill they have 3 or more nodes..... so this one, smells good after 5 nodes or so *just them on the main stem it has a few nodes on branches*

but....the question is really "can you tell from scent at this size if its more likely to be female* thanks!

nothing means anyhitng until you set it into flower. I have had male plants smell amazing. right now i am budding a jamaican skunk and so far the smell is very low key but the buds are starting to swell. so basically you don tknow till ya know...........ya know, especially with bag seed

^^^ best way to learn. just dive in without too much investment, on some plants that dont matter. learn the plants, their moods, and their needs. You may or may not kill a few until you get a good grow going, but sounds like your already ahead of the ball.
