2 plants in a 5gallon DWC

What do you guys think about 2 plants in a single 5 gallon dwc? I have 2 buckets in my set up this way and the plants are to big to separate the roots. I would really like to maximize my plant mass as I have only enough room for 4 buckets. Lighting is a 250 MH/HPS

My rule of thumb is 2 gallons of rootspace per plant as a minimum and over 3 is wasted. So 2 plants is fine.

It may lead to problems controlling pH levels.

Also, are the plant all female, ie were they grown from clones or feminized seeds?
