Hello,

I have 2 plants growing that are now just coming up for 2 months old, the smaller of the 2 is swiss cheese and the larger white widow. I have been growing them under CFLs as you can see in the photos ( 1 x 200 watt large dual spectrum and 4 x 36watt - 2 x 2700k amd 2 6400k) They are in a garden centre soil (for vegetables) mixed with perlite and those little balls for airing the soil and roots. There is also a moss material mixed in to help hold moisture but unfortunately I have forgotten what is called. I water the plants and add 2ml per litre of voodoo juice and liquid bat guano.
Do these plants look ok?
Will they grow much bigger if so how can I speed this up?
Is it time to start flowering and if so will I get a reasonable crop?

I have also attached pictures of the clones I have made from when I topped the plants and tried to show you how bushy they are (is this good).

Any information you guys can give me to help me produce some wicked plants would be much appreciated.

THANKS

Those are very small for 2 months. When I was growing WW they were 24" by this time. It is hard to say what went wrong. The mothers look very healthy. Most people that grow with CFLs don't want to hear it but MH or HPS will serve you better and provide much faster growth.

What do you expect for using cfl's, get a hps light

the longer they veg the bigger your buds will be, but using flo's the light won't reach the bottom very well so it's really when you decide to flower

Got about 6 foot of height but the room is full with those 4 pots I think I might put the clones in another room and start the flowering and see what happens I have 2 more 2700k bulbs that I will swap with the 6400k for a better spectrum.
What does everyone think?

I would add them, but your gonna end up wanting to get either a hps or mh. With flo's your buds are gonna be smaller and less dense... I wouldn't advise growing them tall rather you want to bush them out.

You should probably flip the switch now, especially because you don't have much space for the plants to widen...
You should try using both spectrums in flower, (heavier with the red, of course) I've been doing that for years with great results!

Cheers fellas I will swap them to 12 / 12 tomorrow and add the extra lights. How long do I flower these babies for?

because I thought that it was good for the soil and for allowing the roots to air, am I wrong?
I believe so (although, it's just my opinion) my belief is that it actually restricts water and air flow...good ol' perlite works great for those things...

so hps 400w or 600w what are the differences in running costs and yield? Is it worth getting the bigger one?

well, quite obviously it'll pull 1 1/2x of the power that a 400 watt does, and yeild will definitely increase, More light=More Bud, 600's are also most efficient when it comes to lumens per watt...It is definitely worth getting the bigger one!
