2 lights in one hood??

so long as you can keep the bulbs cool enough, no problem. I know of someone doing this with excellent results. They took a a/c hood with a 600 watt hps and installed a second lamp fixture in the hood to add a 400 watt mh bulb. also, stores sell 1000 watt bulbs with dual spectrum and there is even a bulb that has both a mh and hps in the same bulb if you wanted to go that route. should be a simple enough install tho... cut a hole in hood, secure lamp fixture, add bulb, plug it in...wiring both bulbs to the same ballast is a little more tricky unless you got some electrical know how. good luck

Hi, I run air cooled hoods for my 1000HPS and I keep my 600HPS open. The heat is not going to be overwhelming in their but you have to duct the heat with a fan but you also have to mod your shade for two lights! Man, just place your 1000HPS and duct the air out. Keep your 600 open. Its not the best idea to put a 600 in a air cooled hood since it really does knock down the lumen placement in a 4x4 area. The air cooled shades get knocked down a 1000 to an 4x4 area! Remeber that a air cool hood looses about 6% by passing through and a cool tube looses about 9%

Are you leaving your shade open and not ducting air out? Than def, not the best idea. If that's the case too, go buy a better shade!
Best of luck man!
