You can get a safe to hold a handgun now that you can open and your firearm pops up and presents itself to you in less than 2 seconds, working on a fingerprint scanner.

Its literally quicker than unclipping a holster and drawing and unless your kids have the same thumbprint as you, theyre not getting the gun.

I bring my eldest out shooting, he has a 22lr I bought him but when he's not out with me it's locked in the safe that he can't access.

There's a responsible way to use firearms and there's the retarded way, I don't understand why most opt for the retarded way.

I have one. Takes a bracelet. Fingerprint and number back up.

They make them for pistols and long guns. They make some that bolt inot your vehicle.

They use rfid chip. Pretty cool stuff.

RFID is cool, but it can be brute forced if your kid is proficient with technology. Even most phones have an RFID chip and the communication is largely unencrypted.

Maybe its just my occupation and my son's growing proficiency at programming that has me paranoid about depending on RFID.

Sounds cool though, way more reliable than a gun containing delicate RFID or biometric electronics.

No. I carry my gun. When I go to bed. I lock it up.

I have a dog. Other measures that alert me when someone enters my property. I would know long before they got that close.

You are clueless, this is probabley the most crimeless society in all human history. The old western movies werent as much of an exaggeration as youd think. They used to rape bitches left and right, hang people they didnt like in public. It was real not a fucking movie. So with us on this site - does your smart home record you growing federally illegal weed? Not so smart to record your crimes and not have immediate access to a weapon which is there in the crime den. I have a czech gsd as a warning alarm but im not running to a safe. I have friends who think they are secure but the act of recording yourself in your house seems counterintuitive.
