If you go in the grow FAQ & look in how to grow at Cannabis life cycle this gives you a detailed explanation of the plants different stages of life.

sweet dude, i think, from that info im finishing my seedling stage in about 2 or 3 weeks, and then into veg for a while to get more yield. plant cant get too big tho, how tall u recommend i get it during veg, before i put her into flower?

The plant will double in size when you flower it. If you don't want a plant bigger than two feet be sure not to let it grow past 12 inches in the vegatative state. You can use LST(Low Stress Training), tie it down, supercrop it, & top it. All of these techniques contribute to a smaller, bushier plant. I personally don't let mine go over 12 inches - I think any taller than this is just unreasonable for my operation. Remember don't over do it w/ those techniques because you will stress the plant too much - not good because this can cause the hermaphrodite condition.

few pics, i now have total of 7 cfls, one warm, six cool,
i have two 28watt cool, two 23 watt cool, one 24 watt warm, one little 15 watt cool white one i found, and an 18 watt cool white.

theyre all hovering above and to the side of the plant, kinda hard to tell with pics, shitty cam on my phone, but yeah, theres 7 cfls in my box now.

man i seems to me like your working too hard, it is cool to love your babies but if you love them too much they seem to suffer (IMO). you only really need 1 light maybe two right now she is still a baby. give her time to adjust and just add more lights as needed. and i use to keep my cfls real close like 2-3 inches (what i was told works best) but i always burned them because they grow directly towards the light and about 1-2 " a day. so now i keep them about 6-7" away. there is a little stretching but it looks alot better then burns all over it. i would say try it out your self and see what you like. keep growin and happy smokin

Umm, the more light the better and the closer they are the better. You have to do some trial and error to find out where to put ur lights every day so they're close but dont burn (the one tricky part of CFL growing).

If he had 1000 watts of CFLs to put on it right now I'd say hell yeah do it. It's not like water where the plant can take in too much

it wont be the extra light it is the heat, and it is just wasteful to use 7 lights when just 1 or 2 would be just as good? might as well run 4 1000w hps for just one plant...just dumb

Ok so my example was exaggerated however you stated that having more lights on it while it's small seems to hurt it. What I was trying to say is that having 141 watts (thats what he's running) at this stage is good. The plant will like it. If there are heat issues involved (probably not since they are all low wattage bulbs, heat only gets to be a problem when using the 42 watters or in a real small space) then they should be fixed now anyway because its going to need even more light later on. Then what are you going to do about the heat?

Also, 1 or 2 wouldnt be 'just as good'. The plant would still grow and be healthy under say 25w, but it wouldnt grow as fast

I guess all I'm trying to say is with CFLs the more the better and if heat is an issue you should try to fix it rather than take away light

awesome, ill turn em back on, lol.

and nah, heat isnt really an issue, if it gets hot i just open the hatch for ten minutes, i still dont have a thermometer or a ph kit, but tomorrow im getting that stuff.

thanks guys, you both kinda had valid points, so yeah, thanks.

yeah all the lights r on now, ill be checking if it needs some water tonight before bed. then if i water it tonight, how long should i wait b4 watering again?

is it ok to have the lights basically surrounding the plant? ive shifted one across a little bit and its positioned over the top of the plant, and all the others r hanging, about 2-3 inches from the plant. this ok?

If you go in the FAQ under advanced techniques there is a detailed description on topping - I think this is better than anything I can tell you. Feel the weight of your container right after you water it - remember it - when it feels light water again. You want light surrounding the plant. If you could grow a plant in a light dome it would grow at a ridiculous rate for example.

fuck yeah dude.

so im doing ok? just so nervous that ill fuck it up. lol.

but ill check out topping nd ill probably do that. thanks for that man, much appreciated/

topping is in the grow faq and trust me peole make all of this shit sound alot more intense than it is, have topped 2 plants actually fim'd all I did was pinch the new growth off at the top with 2 fingers one grew 2 heads the othe grew 3 it was my first time doing it, dont be nervous just give it a go, and with cfls as many as you can without a heat issue, and as close as you can 6-7 inches away is not a good idea imho, in order for cfls to be effective they must be close to the plant hell if you are keepinglights 6-7" away might as well get an hid

Hey...go to the GrowFAQ at the top - under categories proceed to advanced techniques for experienced growers - once here in sub-categories click on pruning & you will see a link - How To Make Your Plants Bushier-Topping & Pruning. This is where you will find the info.
