Thanks Cash, the scrog screen is buried under there. This lemon skunk stretches like crazy. I cleaned up a lot of the growth under the screen, got what I could reach, but left a few flowers and fan leaves.

Looking awesome buddy!

I started harvesting last night, just taking the top 2' to 3'. Here is a shot of the main cola on the cantaloupe kush, I am so stoked and Happy, happy, happy! I was away for the past 5 days and the girls really seemed to swell up on pretty much just water over that time.

1/4hp water chiller works great. Tested it with a 10 gallon sterlite tote filled with 90 degree water, within an hour it was down to 66 degrees.

Dealt with a few leaks, and had to take everything apart again several times. No longer are these two sets, all 6 are connected to one igloo chest now so it can be chilled easier.

No worries m420p, think I figured it out. I am sure there will be plenty more questions for you to help with in the future.
My Lemon Skunk is at day 28. I wonder why at day 33 yours are so much more bushy than mine. My fan leaves have stretched outwards way more than yours. Also your leaves seem to be more curled and have more shape. Mine are so flat. I wonder if this is good or bad. Looking great by the way man! The buds are coming out great! I think I am going to put mine into flower after transferring to 5 gallon buckets. Keep up your awesome plants man!

Thanks, the lemon skunks seemed to go through all sorts of growing pains compared to the 3 bagseeds I started a few days before. I did some LST training with string and duct tape (but not enough in my opinion). I think they need to be heavily trained, topped, and pulled back to get a solid canopy of colas at the top. If not, I think it would just have been one beefy cola with a lot of smaller nugs underneath.

I was having cal mag defeciencies, and underfeeding them for a brief period as well. They seemed to go from needing barely nutes at all, to all of a sudden not getting enough and lacking in nitrogen/cal/mg. I think around week 5 or so I used some nitrogen uptake inhibitor product, called Azos, and foliar fed them with a product (heavy 16 it's called, but will try dutchmasters next) as well and then they started to look much greener and really take off. The leaf shape changed quite a bit throughout the grow as well, they started to get much skinnier sativa'ish looking leaves as they got older and also a lighter green color, instead of the dark green of the 3 different bagseed strains I grew along side them.

It was very painful for me, but I ripped out 3 plants today, all bagseed clones. They were developing nicely, had a great healthy rootball and ripping them from the netpot and placing em in the trash was incredibly hard to do. I didn't like the way 2 of the bagseeds were developing their flowers (end of week 4), they looked smaller and airy compared to the other 4 plants. Could have been less light on the edges and too much breeze since they were the 2 plants at the end with no light reflecting from the sides and a fan hitting them harder than the other 4 plants. Regardless, they smelled like blueberrys sort of, and I suspected they came from a blueberry strain that the donor has had regularly for the last year. I am sick of blueberry nugs, and said screw it, start something new.

Devil's Harverst Shoreline feminized seeds started germinating today (ordered from seaofseeds). Here's the link to El Throttle's shoreline grow, this thread sold me on the strain. I can only hope they turn out this good:

https://www.rollitup.org/seed-strain-reviews/578833-devils-harvest-shoreline.html

Will probably start a new journal for these girls.

Pic of the 2 remaining lemon skunk clones and "bagseed 1" which was the strongest fastest growing plant of the group throughout all of veg and early flower. Going to train these things as hard as I can. I found that a little fisheye hook drilled into the top of the netpot and using the green rubber wire tie stuff I got from hydro shop (showed in pic a page or 2 back) is great for training, can bend it easily and even use it to push up some lower branches by propping it some. For $1.85 for an 8 meter roll, I love this stuff. Also added 2 more of the "exhale ez CO2 bags" at $25 a pop to the flower room, moved the older bag of it to the veg side.

Need to read up on keeping a mother plant alive for extended periods, I think I'd like to save 1 lemon skunk at all times to grab clones from. Worried it will overtake the room in a month. Need to learn how to manicure and train it so it can remain in veg for months on end.

When you figure out post what you know in here! I plan on taking clones of all 5 of the different strains in there and developing mothers. I am not sure how I plan to control mine. I really can't set up netting like you. Will have to do some research.

5 weeks into flowering.

Quoting DNA genetics about this lemon skunk, "This strain is the tastiest and sweetest if she is cut down between 50 and 56 days.". One more week of nutrients then it's straight water or Clearex flush for week 7 is possible I guess but seems optimistic. Going to need some help figuring out when it's time to start flushing (with or without Clearex).

Smell is sweet lemony in the room, I'm going to need to invest in a larger can and filter combo soon. Can smell it from the stairway leading down to the basement. 4" can/filter combo scrubbing the room isn't cutting it.

Bagseed plant in the back corner, have pretty much left it alone since I can't reach it. Curious to compare the yield and see what difference it makes to the flowers when I don't cut off the higher fan leaves blocking light. One lemon skunk and this bagseed have remained pretty much left to grow natural.

Clones have been tied down pretty hard, starting to get a better grasp of training them. Going to keep one of the 2 skunks as a mother, and possibly the bagseed if the smoke turns out tasty.

Devil's Harvest Shoreline seeds, started germinating them in a paper towel 6 days ago. One of the seeds didn't grow it's tail, but I threw it in rockwool anyways and mist it throughout the day. I set up the inside of the buckets with 180 degree mist sprayer attached to 1/2" poly tubing. It comes on for 15 minutes and sprays the bottom of the netpot, then off for 15 minutes (using a cheap manual timer).

Veg side over view. Installed 4" inline fan intake, room temps around 82 degrees under the lights.

Hey Booort, they are looking great but I do not think they will be ready as soon as you think. You need to get yourself a scope and check the trichomes. The breeders always clain they will be done before they actually are.

They look great you have come a long way brother, keep up the great work.

Thanks Bleedsgreen, I'm going to order a $25 usb microscope to take pics. I can hopefully get some advice on when to start flushing and best time to chop em down. First time through this in 20 years, so I'm not too positive on how to tell a week in advance that it's time to start flushing process. Start of the 6th week of flower is today, I'll check back in another week with hopefully better pics to post and see where you experts think they are at.

I completely gave up on doing the weekly res changes, once every 2 weeks seems to be going ok so far. Top off with 5 gallons nutes or water a day depending on what the ppm is at. Trying to keep it around 1100 right now.

How is your drying/cure going?

Cleaned out all the tiny popcorn flowers underneath the netting, removed a good deal of growth from under the canopy since I was worried about humidity levels and air circulation. Seemed to have helped.
20130414_191859.jpg

I saved all these trimmings, trying to dry out a few of these tiny flowers to get a feel for curing them correctly and will make cannabutter with the rest. I threw away all the larger fan leaves.

I came across this when I was manicuring the trimmings:
20130416_162224.jpg20130416_162253.jpg

I am fairly certain it is a male pollen sac despite it being kind of hard to see in the picture. Uh oh. Done just about everything I could to check for more, this is the only one I found in the several hours I spent manicuring them. The plants in the back I am pretty much screwed, no way to access the one in the far corner. Crossing my fingers, not too many more weeks to go, but still a pretty horrifying thing to find at 37 days into flowering.

Thanks, really appreciate you posting these here. Any idea on what week the 2nd to last picture is from? I assume the last one is right before you chopped?

Mine aren't filling out as nice yours did, hopefully these last 2 weeks will bring some more swelling. Going to post some pics of them after the light goes off tonight, just finished week 6.

I ordered 6 feminized lemon skunk seeds from sow amazing seeds dot com. I was strongly advised against feminized seeds by the hydro shop guys, but I really wanted this strain and searched around this forum and read there is nothing wrong with feminized seeds and taking clones from them or using one as a mother plant. Not sure who to believe but it is what it is now.

While waiting for the seed delivery, I was given 5 seeds from a friend. Unknown what they are, but friend is very knowledgeable about grows and was told these were quality bag seeds. 4 of the 5 germinated in paper towels, then were transferred to rockwool cube (soaked at 5.5 pH) once they had a 1/4" tail. Placed right under the T5 just resting in a small tupperware container a few inches under the bulbs. I did this to keep them warm as room temps are about 68-69 degrees currently in the house.

The lemon skunk seeds were delivered and started germinating them about 4 days after the bagseeds. I germinated 2 lemon skunk seeds by soaking in a shot glass of distilled water until they sank (4 hours) then placed in a paper towel in a ziplock bag, then in a tupperware container, then on top of a heating mat. I decided to germinate one lemon skunk seed directly in a rockwool cube (5.5 pH soaked). Looking at them today, they all seem to be exactly the same, so it seems germinating via soaking then paper towel then transfer to rockwool is equal to the seed I placed directly in the rockwool to germinate. I think next time I will just germinate all seeds directly in rockwool and skip the paper towel.

Lemon skunks fully sprouted through the rockwool 4 days ago. Here is where I am at now with the lemon skunk at day 4:
From awhile back but just wanted to say I've germinated straight in rapid rooters, peat plugs and rockwool all fine and in fact I can get a sprout 95% of the time before my friends who use paper towels. I also have 100% germ rate so far (only 50 or so seeds but still haven't lost one yet) so that's def my preference too

I like to germinate my seeds in a glass of water. They usually pop within 48 hours and then straight into rapid rooters. No need for the paper towel method.

I used rockwool for the longest time, but the rooters are great; no need to prep them and they don't go dry when you turn your back on em for a bit.

And, booort, the next to the last picture is about 45 days.

Oh, and that thumbnail at the bottom is my last batch of LS clones. It took them from plants WELL into flower, so once they rooted they had to go through the whole revegging process which resulted in extremely branchy plants. Flowering now, they show little sign of stretching and I did a little bending during the first week of flower and now I have a little bush that looks a lot different from the tall shrubs one usualy gets.

Pictures turned out pretty crappy, ran out of time and the hps came all the way on. Here's the few I managed to get pics of:

Lemon skunks:

20130422_095902.jpg20130422_095855.jpg20130422_095840.jpg20130422_095817.jpg

They have a lot of flower sites, and too few big fat cola tops. The flowers that are there aren't enormous, but there are quite a few of them and they sure are frosty and smell lemony. Not looking quite as good as shrknmn's in terms of yeild though. Not sure where I went wrong, I think their environment is just about perfect with air and water temps, humidity, co2, air circulation and nutes. Possibly I tried to train too many of the lower branches to stretch up to the top of the canopy and spread things too thin. I saw some symptoms of slight nute burn over the last week on the tips of the leaves, they can't seem to take more than 1200ppm. Would top off with just RO water with a little calmag and aquashield to lower ppm. Alternating every other day, top off with nutes, then top off with just RO water next day. Trying to keep it around 1000 ppm at the moment. Ph has been very stable.

Skunk clones, lots of manicuring and LST:

Bagseed 1:

kept clone of this bagseed since it seemed strong and hearty.

Devil's Harvest Shoreline seedlings:

20130422_100123.jpg20130422_100114.jpg

Started germinating these about 2 weeks ago, I'd guess they are about 10 days from sprouting through the rockwool. One of the seeds never germinated, I don't know why, but this is the first seed out of 10 that has failed to germ. /shrug

Smell was getting worse, so I broke down and bought an 8" fan and carbon can ($300 total), it's enormous, but really helps keep the smell to a minimum:

Yo Brother! That is some frosty goodness right there, hey no one ever said you were a photographer did they ;)

So proud of you the girls look great and tryst me they will swell the next few weeks!

Oh yeah the earlier pick sorry to say that is a fully blown pollen sac, but no worries if that was the only one you found you will have a few seeds but not a shit load. Keeping my fingers crossed for ya and congrats again.

My dry is done and everything is in jars being burped daily but about ready to stop that as well. All of the OG's Purple, Lemon and just OG are incredibly potent, knock you on the couch and sit there happy for about 2 hours. Nothing but great things to say about DNA and Reserva Pravada, awesome strains from them!

Just about 7 weeks flowering complete, starting week 8 on Monday.

Managed to get some pics tonight after the lights went down. Don't know how others take their pics with the lights off, but when I do it I feel it's a mad scramble to get pics and gtfo of the room. Usually takes me about 2 minutes or so, and I've always wondered if those 2-3 minutes them getting a big light leak past their bed time affects anything much.

I will need help soon judging when to start the flush. I can keep posting the best pics I can with the camera, but I didn't get a usb microscope like I planned so I could post pics of the trichs. I think I will need to get a jewelers loop or magnifying glass or something in the coming days.

I've spent countless hours looking through other photos around here trying to get a feel for when to chop, but not sure when to start the flush. Anyone at all, please feel free to chime in with how and when to start the flush. I had planned on using Clearex, but after hearing how others simply top off with plain water until the ppm gets close to 0. Need suggestions please.

Timed these seedlings wrong, wish I had started them earlier or later, but doubt they will be ready to move to flower with the other clones. This is going to create a problem in the near future I think.
