1st time grower with harvest question and pics

I have learned a lot from the posts here, and am curious if my first grow is going on track.

I started with ten bag seeds, three made it through the first two weeks, and only one ended up being a female. So I am treating her as best as I can!

This is what a couple of buds from the middle look like at 4 weeks into flowering. When might I expect to harvest -- in the next couple of weeks? I am really unsure about when to harvest. Some of my trichomes are cloudy, but not all.

I appreciate the help of anyone who responds. Thanks.

Easy Killer..... You have 4-6 more weeks of flowering.......Let that soak in........ 4-6 weeks ok. That means you can cut her down in MAY.. Repost around April 20-25 and lets see how she is doing

Thanks for the advice. You suggest 4 to 6 weeks more. However May 1st is 51 days from now, which is over seven weeks. So your answer is a bit contradictory. Thanks anyway.

Hey csmig....what strain is she?? My sister and I are 1st time growers too. Our girl is 5 weeks....hella crystals.....dense buds....and looks just like yours. We're thinking ours is a mango strain :o)

Hey csmig,

Shes looking good! Looks about right for a week 5er. Honestly the average time (some strains shorter, some ALOT longer. I'm starting week 11 now) is 8 weeks. With your trichome development, how big those calxys look, and the turning pistils I would say 3 more weeks is a safe bet.

However, do not base it solely on average time frame. Buy a handheld microscope from RadioShack for $12 and check the trics. ALL should be at least cloudy, if not turning amber. Word of caution, if you are waiting for amber trics your harvest window is only ~12 days after they begin to turn from cloudy to amber.

Hope this helped.

Thanks to all who responded, I really appreciate your time.

Bless America -- I have the Radio Shack microscope, though I must admit I find it hard to hold steady and focus. But what a view! I'm looking for those amber trics...

I was running just high-output fluorescents (Sunleaves VitaLUME Bloom tubes) for about 30,000 lumens, but I just added a 400 watt HPS for another 50,000 lumens. I know it is a bit late in the game to add the HPS, but that's a long story. Since this is my only plant, she's getting all the light I can throw at her -- totally surrounded by about 80,000 lumens. Is that too much? Temperature is under control, so I think it's okay.

As far as strain, who knows... like I said, she's from bag seed.

csmig,

As long as you have temp and humidity under control you cannot have too many lumens. The sun emitts ALOT more than any amount of lights you could buy and install.

As for the having a hard time holding the 'scope still, I cut a sweet leaf (leaf next to bud) off and place it on a clean white piece of paper and then look at it. Every once in a while I try to put it directly on the plant but I too have a very hard time holding still.

Take it easy man,
