1st time grower When can I sample?

Hello,
I began my first grow about 7/22/09 with 6 seedlings. Due to attrition, (M/F) selection, and general lack of knowledge on my part I now have 1 sole survivor. I began 12/12 lighting 8/23/09 with a DIY bubbleponics setup with Stealthgrow nutrients. I have several good flowers. I bought a Radio Shack 60-100 x pocket microscope and I think I see the clear trichomes on the top of the white widow plant. I am going camping 1st weekend October and definitely want some ganja. None since my last trip to Jamaica in April. Can I just just clip the top of the plant, rapidly dry (microwave or low temp oven), or am I out of luck? Don't know anyone in this area of Central NY (40 min east of SYR) to even get something to make camping even MORE fun. Thanks and pardon my ignorance. I am a newbie but I am trainable.

you got any pics man ? Anyway usually a month and a half aint long enough.

i mean it is possible to clip one, but i dont think it will be very potent yet, plus it will smoke and taste horrible, i would cut buds from the bottom of the plant since they never get that big anyways, i deffinitely would not cut from top of plant might stunt its bud production. but try it before you go from a bottom bud but i dont think they will be very potent. if this helps you plus rep me please

I wouldnt harvest to early mate!
be patient and reap the rewards of the grow
also I wouldnt fast dry either as you will probably have some
nasty tasting bud! that would just put a downer on ya camping trip.
best off to wait and harvest at the right time. dry and cure properly.
you have one plant left, make the most of it

I do appreciate the input. I have uploaded an image of the top bud. It is under an LED UFO light which seems to have been good for me so far. Unfortunately the picture seems very red. Not happy about having to wait but I guess I will have to. I am not in a position to ask around to see if someone in my area has some ganja that I can take on my trip. Thanks again for the advice. i will try and wait and I guess a bottle of good Cabernet will have to do do.

Did you freeze or dry the leaves from the boys?

I made some homemade hash using alcohol and a hermy I had to kill a while ago. The little bit of hash I got (a good size marble) was smooth and potent.

Not a total waste

you can clip your plant whenever you want and dry it in the microwave but it'll taste nasty, have little to no effect and it'll thin your final yield quite a bit. . . have patience, it'll be worth the wait

how old does the plant got to be before fan leafs are any good for making oil ?
