1st set up

1st time grower and about to purchase my set-up. The warden says I have $1000 to spend. I want a 10x10 bc I know I’ll eventually grow into it. I’m a lifer win or fail. I have a garage and will run my a/c duck work to the tent. For a light I think the PHLIZON PH-B8-640w @ $350 to start. It’s a big light. And obviously the necessary ventilation. My question is, what’s your thoughts on this setup for a 1st time grower and what potential problems can I see in such a huge environment?

You'll need three more lights to cover 100 ft^2

That light will cover 4x4 to 4.5x4.5ft

Like you said you'll grow into it, no need to fill it straight away and there's no harm in having a nice space you can zip yourself into and work away

Also you get a lot of light for the money with that light

If you look at some of migro (on youtube) videos you can see in real world numbers how much light loss there is around the edges in an open space vs reflective on all sides.

They don't have to be ceiling to floor, just a 1m length around the light line would help

Edit, I can't find the relevant video and I feel like it could of been a small moment in any of his 100s of videos..

But yes it makes a big difference having 4 reflective sides

I think you're going to be damn close to 1k for the tent and light alone. A lot of other stuff to buy before you're off and running. Something to think about/

I would start with a 4x4, get it equipped and functioning.. Buy good genitics..Get a good harvest..
Then see where your at and what your needs are.. You can always add another 4x4..
Most of us have at least two, one for veg and one for flower..

I’ll be at 600. My PHLIZON 640w light is $350.You can buy a good 10x10 for around $200. I figure $150 for exhaust. That leaves $300 for pots soil and meters. I can go over a hair and buy nutes later. I own humidifiers already. What else should I be prepared to buy to get started?

If I were to set up in a garage I’d build walls and insulate all around instead of using a tent. You could cut costs by framing with 1x4 2’OC ,using styrofoam sheets.
