1st Practice Grow (First Grow Ever)

Ok so a few days ago, I started my first ever grow. I was able to spend a pretty penny getting all new supplies, but not enough for an HPS of MH, so after seeing and hearing so many good things about CFLs, I went with those. Anyway, this is my grow journal which will chronicle my first ever 35 Gallon Rubbermaid SCROG w/ebb & flow setup; Computer cab veg. chamber. I germed the seeds a few days ago, but I don't know what strain it is (bagseed). I also just put a few chronic seeds to germ. Anyway, after 12 hours, my seeds had tails, so I put them about 1/4" in a moist peat pellet. After a couple days, nothing happened, and when I checked on them, the tail just kept growing down very slowly, so I flipped them tail up, and now one is coming through the soil and the other is about to. I need to know if my growth, or lack thereof, is normal for 5 days after sowing.

you should have put your seeds like half way down the pellets and dont flipp them tail up because the tail is the root so it will grow bigger untill it can sprout

Ok so finally, I have an update on my first grow...so I had to go out of town for a few days and I was very worried about my plants dying on me, since something similar happened to my cousin last year. I am doing things very different than what my cousin did. He had a 70W MH lamp that was perfect for his closet, but it was about 3.5' away from his plants. I am using 3 26W CFLs and 1 42W CFL that is about 3" that's INCHES, not feet, away from my plants. Anyway, I came back from my 4 day long trip, and heres what my WW looked like before my trip (15 days veg.), and after 4 days (19 days veg.) It looks kinda weird at 19 days bc I had just misted before the lights came on...

Edit: By the way...one of the bagseed sprouts from my initial post is still going strong, along with this WW, and a couple Mazar x Afghan

Cool, they survived! They look good so far. I'll follow along and watch their progress. Good job dude.
Thanks bro! :) I'm happy for now because I've at least beat my cousin up to this point...now I have to make sure and keep their feeding/lighting schedules in sync so I can flower asap. Oh and btw, my grow room has changed from a self-contained rubbermaid growbox, to a 6'(h)x6'(w)x3'(d) closet in my bedroom. So now I have the utmost privacy and stealth from the outside world. I'll also be able to harvest between 2-4 Os per plant, instead of 3/4 oz-1 oz, based on final lighting schedule, nutrient ppm, and genetics, of course...

Oh and pablo, I'm lovin the avatar! lol! That's one of my favorite roflcat pics! :)

looking good, but i suggest never misting your plants, even with plain water. it drains the nitrogen out of the leaves, and the water droplets act like tiny magnifying glasses and create "hot spots"
