1st grow with CFL. Please help!

yes you sure can it be good enough for your own personal smoke and maybe little to sell also im growing with only 8 cfls 23 w and one 300 w and im pleased with what ive got growing so im sure you will be ok

It could be, but 6 plants in a 3x3 space seems like a tight fit, especially if you plan to use CFL's cause you need to keep the bulbs all up around them girls or else they'll just stretch and struggle to get the light they need. You'd be better off with 2-4 plants tops.

alright, i will go with 4 plants max then. Ill be doing lst and topping, but i have a question. when they get 5-6 nodes and i top above the 2nd node for four main colas, can i lst the plant after that? if so, how long do i have to wait to start the lst? it just doesnt seem right to me to tie the top down after i just cut it, wont it need growth? if i can lst and top the way i want to at the same the ill do it to all 4 plants.

imo i would run that in a 3x2 or even better a 2x2 then stuff the cab.. how tall is the space..
check it with 390w your going to need 100cfm pc fan to keep the cab 10 above ambient. just buy 1 fan 100 cfm or like 130cfm if u are going to use a filter. you know anything about passive intake?

imo? the space isnt enclosed. its in a closet in my guest room that no one will ever go into to so i didnt think i needed the intake/outake shit. theres pics on like pg 2. and im doing this method i stumbled upon on here that got a lot of good comments for odor control-the febreeze bucket with an outake fan in the lid. im leaving one window of the room 1/4 of the way open for fresh air(there's shades). each room in my house has a wall heater than can be programmed to keep the room at that temp. then i have a standard house fan for circulation.

IMO= in my opinion
so u have a 3x3x8 which is 72 cubic ft and 9 sq feet. you want to have about 50-60 watts per sq ft. with 390w at 9 sq ft you have 43w sq ft. if u wanna use the 3x3 space and not convert it to a 3x2 space you would have another 100 watts. if u use 390 watts in a 3x2 u would have 65w per sq ft.
now seeing you are using cfls and tubes your temps might not get too high if the doors open but i could tell you 300w is 300w whether its from cfl or hid it will put out about the same amount of heat. you could be good with a big fan chilling in your closet.
now about odor control. with the fan in the febreeze bucket, it wont filter all the smell if the door is open, or cracked slightly open. it will only work if your closet has negative pressure. now to acquire this negative pressure your closet would have to be closed and sealed; no intake fan is needed just an exhaust. you want to suck all the air out of the cab thru the exhaust fan thru the febreeze bucket. if u had an intake fan you would be pushing air in, so it would escape thru and non sealed part of ur closet. same thing with the standard house fan....door cracked and a filter will be useless if the fan is blowing air around and out the closet.

okay so ive decided im going to veg with: 6-65k 42 watt/4 65k 23 watt/3-55k 23 watt/3-27k 42 watt/4-5k 17 watt tubes. 607 watts total. for six weeks.
then flower with: 6-27k 42 watt/8-27k 23 watt/2-55k 23 watt/4 17 watt tubes. 550 watts total. for 9 weeks. And yes please i would very much appreciate any links. im constantly on here and everywhere else reading up on as much information as i can.

nice. i have a theory that if u used lets say 1000w during veg and then we will say 600w during flower, imo i think it will make it easier to acquire almost 1gram per watt under the 600watts.. your essentially are going to test my theory with ur grow!
anyway what you going to do about venting all that heat? your closet will get to 100 with all those watts. i can assure you that. you will need 150cfm fan to keep them 600w in ur closet with a 10 degree F temp difference from inside ur cab to whatever the temp of the room is with that window open. and that 150 cfm is without the carbon filter or febreeze bucket, you will need higher cfm to push thru it..so u will need about 180cfm to run ur closet. you can buy a inline fan for ur needs at lowes or home depot for about 40 bucks.

thats def a great setup but once in flower u may need a few more depending on how bushy the 2 get ur gonna top....and if u wasnt gonna clone i would suggest fimmin over toppin much better results....hell id fim anyways since ur gonna veg that long and jus get some clones from the bottom or 1 or 2 after ya fim..good luck im glad i could help and ill keep givin any advice that i can...
