1st grow start of week 8 flowering pics... and another how long do you guys think?

I know I need to get a 30x loupe (I borrowed someones 10x and it just doesn't do the trick). I'll get one this week, but I'm curious what you vets think... when do you think I can start my flush? How do they look overall? I had a couple hiccups along the way but these girls are pretty tough and were able to withstand any noob mistakes I threw their way :) Hope these pics do the trick I did my best, if you guys need some better pics I'll try again

For your first grow you did an excellent job bro, congratulations... Your girls look very close to being done.. What strain are they?and how many days did the breeder say they will take to be ripe? All your leaves look healthy still even at the bottom where they will start to die at the end so if I a guessing i'd say 14-20 more days... Go to radio shack and get a 30 power scope for $12.00 and you will know for sure...Peace

Thanks man, appreciate the positive feedback. Strains are 1 IPOT (sativa dominant) and 3 big bangs. I believe the breeder suggests 8-9 weeks for both fwiw

8-9 weeks if all goes perfect, in my experience an extra week is a good thing because seldom as a new grower do all things go perfect... Peace

these responses make me excited :hump: thought I might have a few weeks to go. I'm going to buy the scope now! Hopefully I don't screw up drying/ curing. I might even have to sample a bowl pack:blsmoke: I just ran out and I'm not sure I can resist, can I just slice off the top of a bud or should I take a lower stem off?

well, got the radio shack scope, trichs appear to be mostly cloudy but I don't see any amber (altough only looked at a couple buds). Yes I chopped one off :twisted:, I couldn't resist so here you go... this is a trimmed bud off my IPOT

Sativas can be very hard to tell by the trichomes. In my experience cloudy is good and amber is not as good, this is somewhat contrary to indicas. Here again much of this comes from personal taste and from learning how your strain actually hits it peak time for the type of high you are looking for and length of time.
Your grow is very nice looking for your first attempt, congrats.

I took a tiny little bud, and I'm glad I did... I am now officialy baked off of my first ever grow :mrgreen: I can tell it's needs a little more time but not much and it is definitely good

Merry Christmas to you too! Thanks for the info, I've never heard that before. After closer inspection I do see some that have started to just turn amber, and again, it is really good. I don't kmow if it's cause I'm so stoked to be smoking my own shit but I can say I'm definitely pleased with the results! :cool:

Glad that you are pleased with your results, the appearance of your grow is outstanding. May I make a further suggestion? Not harvest all of your plant at once. Leave a couple of bottom branches to fully ripen, keep checking the progress and take what is left in stages to see just what maturity you are looking for in your girls. Each strain especially sativas will finish at slightly different stages. Today's MJ has been so polluted with indica that the art of sativas seems to be lost.
Once again congrats and + rep for your efforts.

Thanks again, +rep right back! I'll do exactly that. I have 3 IPOT clones waiting to flower (1 bigbang, I'll take a good sativa over indica anyday) and I think that is a great suggestion to further my knowledge of this strain for next time.
