1st grow/small cab - Auto or Normal in short-veg?

Hello everyone!

My growcab is around: 2 ft. W x 2 ft. D x 4 ft. H - 150 HPS

In order to have an optimal balance between time and yield, considering the lack of space, would you go for:

1 - Auto strains (3 - 4 plants) which should be done in 8/9 weeks, and stay under 2.5 ft.

or

2 - Normal "fast flowering" strain [i.e. Skunk #1] (2 plants?), veg for 3 weeks and harvest in around 10/11 weeks?

Thanks everyone :weed:

[I posted a similar question, but in more general terms in the Indoor forum, sorry for the double post, seems I can't delete it]

SCROG...and inject CO2 into the cabinet to increase metabolic rate, reducing growing time.

Wow thank mate for the quick reply!

So you suggest to go normal strain, I suppose 1 plant, right? I read SCROG involves slightly longer time, in order to reach the screen before flowering, doesn't it?

That's what the co2 is for to decrease its time, but honestly if you are going to buy seeds, and want a short grow time, get some feminized Iranian cross of some sorts, they are early flowering, veg 2 of em for about 3 weeks, switch it to 12/12 and start weaving it in the screen...you'll have buds a plenty ;)

Just be careful of the heat in a cab that small...be sure you've got it vented or yer just gonna crisp it all up :)

Thanks man,

So you suggest starting to weave straight when I switch lighting mode, or do I need to wait and see the buds forming?

The heat: I am aware of it, ;), I'll just atart when I'm sure the tempo are under control!

Thanks really appreciate

You can start weaving whenever, depending on your growing environment, with such a small cramped space you are going to want to keep things as low as possible, so the only real good method for doing that is using scrog...you'll want to LST your stem down to promote side shoots to grow faster, and in turn LST them down as well until you get a good base going, then you can free them up to start hitting the screen and weave it around in it to evenly space out your colas to to get an even canopy :)
