Looks great! Did a terrific job! Been vegging mine since February 25th and hoping to get as frosty as yours did. I'm probably going to have to defoliate like you did.
Hopefully there's no hard feelings with me posting these here. If so just delete this.

You vegging Northern Lights? They look pretty happy. If you defoliate I'd recommend not lollipopping. If I had done that, vegged for 2 weeks less, I'd have plants about a foot shorter but thick with bud nearly to the base of the plant. The last plant I have left I didn't lollipop, I only defoliated, and it's going to have nearly double the yield. I had to trim stems on the others cause I had no room in the tent. 2x4 is small.

It's called pineapple cash. Never heard of it before but the momma is about 20 foot high. Guy has 45 of them. Well... They were 20 foot high. Now they're all chopped. Check out my grow. http://rollitup.org/t/mr420mans-grow-journal-in-the-pnw.905011/

Just wanted to say, nice work mate. Your buds look super frosty, and beating a G per W would be a fantastic achievement... and on your first grow; BOOM! I am excited to check out your next grow - will you be running NL again?

I read the whole thread, but I don't remember reading which breeder your seeds were from? I have some NL no. 5 from British Columbia Seed Co, I am now tempted to set up a 2nd flowering room so I can get them up and running (currently 1/2 way through flower with Female Seeds C99).

interesting bro, Where does the larf start on the unlolipoped tree? Defoliating it probably helped a great deal on the unlolipoped one. I'm about to do a run of Black Cream Autos, and don't want to lollipop due to the stress it causes. How close were you leaving the fixture? I'm seriously impressed looking back over it, a 400 getting that good of penetration.

The larf and popcorn starts about 2/3 down but by the time I harvest I'm hoping that stuff will thicken and swell into higher quality buds. I feel like pinching off all the fan leaves once the canopy is full didn't cause any stress at all. All the nodes immediately pumped out new leaves/new shoots. I think it affects inhibitory hormones the way LST does.

I kept the light at its closest, about 10 inches away from the tops. 3 static clip on fans, and one big upside down oscillating fan also helped thicken the stems which are the framework the buds grow on.

My mistakes that I can identify at this point (with more experience I'm sure I'll see more issues), I put too many plants in a 2x4. The way I want to train them, 2 plants are closer to optimum. And two weeks less veg time. Also didn't put in the right UVB CFL supplemental lights until late. I think squeezing in a couple t8 UVBULBS would be even better. Oh and an intake fan so I wouldn't have to battle the vacuum the single exhaust fan made.
God I want some fancy top bin led 600w set up. But that's for next year. I have a shit ton more reading to do before I try diy.

Oh yes and I want to study and find a source to mix my own nutrients. I bought a bunch of FF stuff and is all the same ingredients, just different ratios.

Yep, you are right. Heres the bases http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01B68LYDQ/ref=s9_dcbhz_bw_d0_g86_i1_sh
I'm sure you can source them cheaper though. This kit just gives an example. But don't forget some additives, carbs, sugars, fulvic, humic, sea weed/kelp, and benny bacteria to breakdown organic material. I've looked into doing it but it's a lot of hassle vs buying from a single source for a bit of a markup. Some people will argue the savings are worth the hassle. bongsmilie

I used seed from southern oregon seeds. It's sold as Pure Northern Lights.

I've got one that won't finish out of the four. It's on day 72 of flower. Trichomes all clear or cloudy, 50% new stigma (pistils) , 50% orange. I'm going to keep watering and lightly feeding it. Don't really care. I'm curious how far it'll go if I don't starve it.
You can see the branches are denuded of any large fan leaves. I continue to pick and pluck lightly. The trim from the other 3 plants made a nice pile of kief. Not even done processing material yet.

15 Oz wet trim from the last plant in this first grow. I had to chop. Close look at trichs and in was around 10-15% amber.

One huge cola, fair amount of decent bud, fuck ton of frosty larf for hash. If this dries the same, I expect about 4 to 5 oz of dried bud. I'll do the math later but I'm hopeful to easily bust a gram/watt.

Thanks for everyone's help. I've got some green to dry and cure now.

Someone said "wet weight don't mean shit". Glad I didn't argue. After a few days of drying and the curing process starting, total dry weight for the whole grow was 312 gm. Not enough to go running thru the streets naked, but not shamefully low either. There's another 90 gm of high grade trim that I've just been rolling into little sticky gummy balls and smoking. Was hearing a radio in the background right after the first hit. It was the dishwasher. I have no tolerance evidently.

I was examining the buds under magnification. Occasional lint fibers. I'll need to add an intake fan with a filter and run it a little faster than the exhaust fan to create a bit of positive pressure. Maybe that'll keep the air cleaner. I know it'll help with the tent wanting to suck in.

So shopping list for next grow:

LED lighting
Intake fan with filter
Replace 10 inch oscillating fan
Filter mat for oscillating fan

Thanks for everyone's input.

The bud is dry and stable at 62%. It's just starting to mellow. As I understand it'll be another 6 weeks before it's done curing.

I'm happy with the way it smokes. Actually I'm happy with the way it hits the gf. She stops talking for an hour.
