1st Grow Ever: Is Something Wrong?

This is my first grow ever. I have started 2 plants, each is 16 days old. One plant is an unknown seed (the crappy one) and the other is caramelicious, which continues to get bigger every day. I am worried about the curling of the leaves on caramel tho, is this a sign of over feeding? Or are they just curling to get more light? Also is it normal for the leaves to be so thick with huge peaks and valleys in the leaf? There are also a few very small brownish spots on the leaves what is this all about? Both are in 3 gallon pots. My caramel plant is being lit by (3) 42w and (1) 26w CFL, for a total of 9400 lumens. The crappy one is getting about 5080 lumens. I am growing in a 5x5x8 ft closet with a fan. I am also burning an oil lamp in there when im home to supply some CO2, and according to my cheap co2 meter it stays around 1500 ppm as long as the lamp is burning. The temp stays between 73-80 F in there with about 35% humidity. Does the caramel plant look healthy overall? Should I throw the crappy plant away since it is so weak and small (and relocate the lights on my good plant)?

In the first like 12 days I had been giving it only a little water (1/2 cup to cup) about every other day but the soil seemed to dry out everyday with that method. This week I gave it .75 L on Wed and 1 L on fri. Ive been using bottled water bc i have no ph meter

the leaves that looked burnt are probly from over feeding. You shouldnt give nutes til its abit older. at least a month, then give it to them in 1/4 increments

Don't throw it away. It could turn out to be a good plant.

All plants have different characteristics. The oddly shaped leaves could be just that. No worries there.

yea let it grow man!!! i never give up on a plant. hell ihad to cut one of mine almost in half because it was getting to bushy and one side was growing up against the wall and getting messed up so i just cut all that shit off, i thought afterwards it was stupid to do but it did fine and is still growing strong its actually one of the bigger ones now!!!!!

they look like they will great, just keep them going.

Lay low on nutes though.

I dont think it needs to be flushed, just keep an eye out.

I would say it looks pretty good for a first grow, soil looks a little poopy but hey, plants look nice and green. Yeah keep the nutes away from your plants when they're babies, they can't handle it.

it's day 19, is it too early to start flowering? it is 5 in tall and 7 in wide. the reason i ask is that im moving in about 4 1/2 weeks and it has to be dried and in a jar by then unless i want to leave it unattended and only visit on the weekends

Ummm, dude most strains take at least 8 weeks to flower. If you only have 4 1/2 weeks you may as well cut it down now. If you flower now, it will sex in about a week, and then IF its a female, with only 3 1/2 weeks to flower you're going to get like an eighth of shitty VERY premature bud. Next time leave yourself several months to complete a grow. What I don't understand is why people choose to just throw some seeds into dirt without doing any research whatsoever. I mean, you obviously have internet access, c'mon bucko get your head in the game.

Added: From the new pictures it looks like your growing cannabis/lettuce anyway, not a huge loss.

actually i did do research. due to circumstance outside of my control i dont have as much time as i thought i would. my question wasnt "how can i get an awesome yield of awesome bud from this grow, it was " i have 4.5 weeks so what should i do. maybe you should read the question and think about it harder before you respond next time. can anyone else actually answer my question? wtf do you mean by lettuce? thanks for making fun of my first grow ever

Whoa chill out man, in my humble opinion anyone that chooses to grow pot should know how long its life cycle is before attempting it. If you don't know that much, I'm assuming you're lacking knowledge of other aspects of growing, therein lies my point. Its really not one of those learn by doing activities, if you fuck it up your plant will die, or at least it will be devastated to the point of worthlessness. I answered your question, if you only have 4.5 weeks you're fucked, cut it down. The bud you get after 3.5 weeks of flowering(once again it takes about a week to sex pot) will probably not even get you stoned. By lettuce I meant your plant looks like its half lettuce, half marijuana, as in it looks fucked up. I'm not trying to discourage you from growing, it just gets old seeing plants suffer from neglect or ignorance of their caretaker. Learn from your mistakes and grow a happy plant you can be proud of next time. If you want you could grow it out until you're forced to cut it, then make ISO hash from the baby buds. That's about the best option I'd say, but that's a lot of work for a little ISO, IMO. Sorry if I hurt your feelings, its tough love man, I bet those harsh words will drive you to learn more...
