1st ever grow AK48 with CFL's

heres my 1st ever grow using ak48 , germinated 4 and planted then all four sprouted lovely.

im using multi purpose compost from b&q mixed with vermiculite ( it looks like its 100% vermiculite but thats just some on the surface to make it all tidy)

im using 4 23w cfl's and one 20w floro, i only added the foil today for reflection and i think that might be why they havnt grown much, they are 12 days old from planting

when the 12/12 time comes i will have a 400w hps ready for flowering

i also have a 12" fan kepping air circulated in there

have a look and tell me what you thing any tips would be much appreciated

im not expecting to yield 10 ounces lol i will be happy with a couple 8th's but all the more the better !!!

if this grow gos well i will make the cupboard a lot better for my 2nd grow plus i have plenty more space as they grow

the plants are on a 24/0 light cycle at the minute but would i be better of using the 18/6 cycle?

what are the pros and cons?

Looking pretty good man! Those cfl's dont put off much heat so get them as close to the plant as you can...your plant will stay shorter and stockier if it doesnt have to stretch to the light. Foil can be troublesome because it can create hot spots and burn your plant. I also doesnt reflect as well as mylar or FLAT white paint. Not gloss paint, it absorbs light. From what i have read, your plant will not benefit from any more than 18 hours of light. Be prepared when you switch to 12/12 with that 400w hos.....it will puts off ten times as much heat!

right i have removed the foil as suggested to avoid hot spots and will try and source some mylar asap.

i added a very very weak mix of miracle grow 24-8-16 this morning ( 1.5 ml to 1 gallon ) everything seems good so far,

since the last photos they are growing away very well

i think that they are looking pretty healthy so far ( lets hope it stays like that lol )

let me know what you think. could someone tell me if these nutes would be any good please

and ive added another bulb and fitted a timer so they will be in the dark from midnight til 6am
