You've been a blessing brother! I'll start getting my gear together and I'll most likely do a grow journal so in time I can come back and bathe in dem feels and I can have some pros watching my back when things inevitably start to go pear shaped haha any tips on water treatment? Essentials ph pen from amazon or ebay(cheapest decent one ive found so far) and some ph up/down should be all you need
I haven't got the equipment required for water testing yet, I'll get that within the week but I'm certain my tap water will need some work done to it. With bad tap water would I be best getting a large reservoir and filling it with all the water I need and letting it sit to get rid of the nasty chemicals and then filling the watering can and pH adjusting and mixing in nutes? Get a reservoir/home brew beer bucket etc, fill with water, leave to sit for a while (hour or 2 if you are able to) add relevant nutes then PH, remember tho when you have finished watering/feeding, empty the reservoir so nutes dont go out of whack whilst sitting there, much better to do do a fresh mix every day you plant to water/feed etc
Would I need an air stone in the res to stop algae or would it be fine for the length of this grow? Ideally you should get into the habit of emptying res after you have finished feedibng n mix up a fresh batch for next watering/feeding time, if you leave it sitting in the res for days it will throw the levels/ph all out of whack over time
I'm assuming I'll be going through a whole lot of water with hempys? Never done hempys sorry, soil or coco may be a better starting point for your first grow as more forgiving etc

Thank you.

This is going to be bouncing around , It is all about having your environment tuned in very well, You're also going to need to start with great genetics , IMO you will not find a sativa that will be good for this kind of grow. If you started with a clone it would take you about 3 months for the first grow, after that about 50- 60 days depending on how long it takes your strain to flower. About the same from seed if there feminized and you dont search for that dominate female mother plant, Some people say use a mh for veg, I actually lost yield when doing that , A 600 hps can and will take a crop from established clone all the way to harvest. 600 HPS could do 600 or more grams with a great grower, perfect genetics and room and a bit of good luck . Dont let anybody tell you a clone will not support an ounce of weed, My SOG set up is this...... A 40 inch x 40 inch x 70 inch tent (3.3x 3.3 ft ) 9 square feet, I take 25 clones about 21 days before they are needed so they can be well rooted , I veg them for 5-7 days and flip the lights to flower, I run a 1000 hps with an ac when needed so the temps stay about 78-80 degrees and I keep the rh between 35-60. They are grown in a homemade aeroponic system . They stay happy and healthy and in about 55 days of flowering they are harvested. I pull between 800 and 900 grams off of 25 clones which is really good IMO :) But it also means between 32 and 36 grams per plant. Plant height at the start of flower are around 10-12 inches, at harvest they are around 18-20.

I will tell you now that you wont pull an ounce off of your clones the first time you grow, Shit it took me 2 years to make those numbers and some will tell you if your not pulling a gram per watt something isnt right, Truth is everything can be perfect but if your strain wont produce those numbers it never will , A plant that is genetically predisposed to only yield x amount will never yield y amount. You need between 50-80 watts per square foot for optimum growth in cannabis and 30 is the bare minimum to use, In my space I'm at about 110 watts per foot sq. A 600 would be about 66 and perfect for that size of area. You also should get ONE strain and learn it completely before you try to do a multiple strain grow and for SOG only grow one strain at a time , More then one becomes trouble with height , nutrients and flowering time issues, I've tried it and honestly IMO is more trouble then it is worth especially if they are all on the same res.

All in all just learning the basics is number 1, You have to crawl before you can walk. If you get anything out of your first grow then it is a successful grow, Any more questions hit me up and I'll tell ya more in depth about my SOG growing adventures , Best of luck to you :) BB
