So heres a bunch of pics of current grow in no particular order.

Notice the ultra low profile, this setup config takes up about a foot of space vertically, and only about 30% of square footage as it is in corner. Got me thinking of maximizing grow footage so im going semi vertical

same as one above i guess

i add blue for the first 2 weeks. since i was coming from a t5 setup, i wanted to give them a little boost as they were new to the HPS as well

the blue had to be doing something cause the plants all started leaning towards it, even with a 400 watt right above them.

love those perty white walls

love those perty white walls

shine bright light

where would i be without my $50 dollar water sprayer. Oh i know in a much unhappier place than i am now. Worth $50 5 times over, from being almost 3 gallons, super nice to mix up chemicals, super nice to transport water, by the 3 gallons. and also its a damn sprayer, that does a nice misty spray or a hose like stream for real quick and dirty waters. easily took my watering times from a half hour to 5 minutes. And I fill her up and leave her open for 2 days to let some of the chlorine dissipate. Recommend

i used allen key to do my hole pokin, you can see some tail from these gold skunk seeds

about to be placed 1 centimeter to half inch down

allen key was for pokin holes and size comparison

what will house 18 trees

Lets go camping in my room, i got my own jungle and tent

This year ventilation was key. Hut was moved against wall, then vented incoming and outgoing, using 2 one black 1 blue curtains, and wrapping metal vents in clothes for privacy from outside view as im ground floor.

like the sun is in the tent

grow up

grow up

ghetto, 30 dollar bathroom fan made into intake and attatchment to venting

clothes and curtains cover these vents from outside view, im on ground floor, even putting this in window had to be done stealthy

the basic idea, one vent for incoming other for outgoing

same

dumb

oh yeah, i have blinds too, so its 2 curtains and blinds

while installing i did slowly making sure noone watched me from outside, and always keeping vents covered

getting ready to put this in window, wrapped in something to be shady

almost there, love the free space now

my shady vent covers i used speaker covers over these special 4 inch to flat panel adapters.
not supposed to block light, just supposed to block the hole from being seen

blocks light decent though, but of course not the purpose

making these vent hole blocks

speakers look better when you can see the speakers anyway, so my sonys lost their fronts

this is the adapter, i spraypainted it black too, they came in white, definitely a home depot thing, i payed like 12 a piece from hydro store cause im lazy

bye speaker cover

sprayer = love

good temp good idea

nice and clean

babies

babies

babies

ahhhhh

windows vent cover, so people cant see from outside, they just see black

good job

fish live with my turtles

vent attatched

look fish vent

almost done making this one

same shit different pic

not ready

not ready

t5 are good for clones i bet, but for these seeds, i felt they needed a bit more, and i kept moving them closer and even burnt my babies. set them back a week.

t5s can get hot

where my clones will live one day, making babies for now

bad setup

i dont know

before i even started real venting, notice hydrohuts 2 vent holes, one above not attatched yet

backside

underside

some side

more side

looks kinda nice, but i learned to keep t5 further after burning them

awww

awww

Shiskaberry x Buddha Indoor / Outdoor 7 to 8 weeks. 5 Seeds $40 dollars 10 Seeds $70

Blend of a well known cannabis strain, shiskaberry and a pure sativa, buddha is 60% undica and 40% sativa mix. Allows for good high but not as sleepy as most.
1st Generation seed F1 We here at the toronto seed bank used to love strawberries, but now our favorite is shiskaberry. and buddha, well hes downright cool.

Excellent seeds combine the popular shiskaberry strain with sweet and pure buddha sativa. Shiskaberry is famous for its "big buds" and plentitide of crystals.

The buddha genetics encourages height and side branching in your plants, as well as a great sativa high. Many satisfied growers report the resulting smoke gives a great buzz without causing excessive sleepiness. A prime example of using the best genetics from two top rated strains. Buddha is particularly emplyed as a popular strain by medicinal growers, since it has excellent pain-reduction qualities.

THis is literally from the seeds packaging . Seeds were bought in canada. toronto420 seedbank but not there retail location.

Northern Lights x Skunk Indoor / outdoor 7 to 9 weeks. 5 seeds $55.00 10 seeds $ 80

Good blend of two well known strains. This is also a heavy indica.
We mixed these strains because so man people requested it. 1st Generation seed F1

Canaian cannabis genetics (northern light) crossed with an amsterdam strain (skunk) makes for great cannabis.

These primo seeds comine the very very best qualities of these two incredibly popular strains. Northern Lights gives those plants large dense colas while the skunk influence creates a lot of sticky THC laden resin.

This plant grows particularly well indoors. A very heavy indica influenced strain if you like a powerful "body buzz" these seeds will soon become one of your favorites.

From literal packaging purchased myself in canada. Toronto420 seedbank, not their retail outlet however.

Im growing those 4 strains total.

Northern Lights x skunk
Shiskaberry x buddha
Golden skunk
Cali Orange x Big bud

These seeds are in foxfarm ocean forest soil. I will have a 1000 watts total in full bloom, they are vegging in there small state currently with 400 watt hps. Bulb is hung vertically and this grow will focus on using the height of hydrohut, with me placint shelves and hanging bulbs in center so that there will be two levels of growth, bottom floor, then the second shelf with glass shelves. working on this now, but since there so young i have lots of time.

light = 600 Watt HPS + 400 Watt HPS
soil = Foxfarm ocean forest, mixed 60 / 40 with perlite
nutes = foxfarm triple play Grow big, big bloom, tiger bloom.
Hydrohut 4x4x8

Concept is to build shelves with space in center for vertically hanging bulbs, so floor will covered in plants, then 4 shelves around perimeter, and plants on those as well. So without shelves I fit about 16, this time im hoping to add another 12 with shelves. 16 + 12 maximizing electricity usage and vertical space.

There hitting about an 1/2 inch a day now. Giving them just Grow big. 2 tsp per gallon. Looking nice and lush green. Happy since they spent a week looking they would die in a nasty yellow leaf death from t5s burning them. The golden skunk was planted almost 2 weeks later, but spent its life fully under the 400 hps and is doing as nice if not better with much larger leaves, and nicer green / just looks better all around. So for my future grows definitely not afraid to put them under the HPS first. I think the only thing the t5s will do for me is clones if I even decide to do them. pictures will follow.

and oh yeah anyone with input feel free to post good or bad. open thread.

Where did you get the straps for the blower fan and filter? When I got my 4x4 hydrohut it came with straps that were really short and I couldn't fit my 6in fan it it and there would be no way a big carbon filter would be able to fit. The guy at the hydro stor said that you had to order them off the site but I didn't see anything like that. The setup look way good and best of luck to you

the straps are actually a piece of crap belt with same buckle system as normal straps and other black straps came with carbon filter itself not the hydrohut. In any case dont pay for them as this is something you move once a year feel free to use high grade duct tape, a belt, cheap twine, your just trying to keep it there, but you dont wanna hear vibration either nothing solid like chain.

and as you can see. proven many times over by others, plants will grow vertically even if light is to the side. im going to use this to my advantage hopefully and have a second shelf of plants in the hut. sorta like there suspended now, but i want to build either glass or lexan shelve tops so light will penetrate through even. well, new pics with progress. Anybody have any questions

Heres some photos of before and after watering 1-10-08 4:20am

Plants have been under 24 hours lighting since seed. Spent a week under t5 4 bulb set, moved then to 400Watt HPS you see current. When I flip to 12/12 hour schedule I will fire up the 600 watt HPS which is hung above 400 vertically. All strains shown without a label are Gold skunk. Pretty much all plants on right side. Other strain names are listed in tags and pretty much plants on left.

I will switch to 12/12 this week as I intend to keep them under 6 inches before going to flower. Previous attempt was at 10inches and plants grew to 4 feet. Hoping for 3 feet for good light penetration on both tiers. Note also I havnt switched them out of there seedling pots as I want them to stay small as well, and I will switch to larger pots either on flower day or when plants seem ready.

Couple quick questions. Why no light reflector? you could be consintrating all that lost light downward tot he plants?Yes it will bounce off the white inside but alot is going up to unneeded areas so your loosing effiecncy. In those pots are they able to be moved as all the plants seem to be leaning toward the light so you will have to rotate them every 2 days. Are you gonna use co2 in this setup and how long ao you plant to veg?Good job

Seeds were done paper towel method December 4th. So theyve been alive for a little over 30 days. There going to be in 12/12 within the week as I want small plants under 4 feet.

Well regarding CO2, id love to but in NYC its impossible to get a tank in and out of apartment without looking like a criminal. I will try one of those burner types but im always scared of fire, but that seems more sensible. Not now but in future when i have more money / experience.

And regarding reflector, I bought my 400HPS with the reflector, my 600 has none. I do think the reflector takes light normally sent up and puts back to plant, giving definitely more light, but my theory here is the bulbs being vertically stacked will be literally submersed in plants. And since plants will be 360 degrees around bulb, and double stacked with shelves, I feel like im actually getting more out of the bulb than horizontal.

im attatching a pic with a general idea of my hut plan.

Gotcha. You ever consider a co2boost bucket? it gets shipped to you and is just a 5 gallon bucket with a pump and co2 making material inside. You just plug it in and hange the hose. They cost about 100-120 check ebay or CO2 Boost - Supplier of CO2 producing mixture for the purpose of CO2 enrichment and air fertilzation

Hey thanks serious for the suggestion, definitely appreciate input. I think you do have a good idea with this.

I think im too much of a DIYer to buy the bucket though. So many people have talked up the yeast and sugar water method, and I feel like if I was gonna with a chemical co2 or a breaking down co2 like these do, i might as well fill a 10 gallon with a crap load of yeast and sugar, and figure out what works best. Im actually curious now if anyone has ever done an audit of actual c02 in a room with these buckets. like anyone actually check what the ppm of c02 was in the room sealed with the bucket.

other reason i think I shouldnt do bucket, is they actually are fairly expensive considering. It would last 1 maybe 2 grows at over 100.00 dollars. Ive seen these buckets at my local hydro store too, they tried to sell them to me too. WHat I think im gonna do is save up like 400 dollars and do the co2 burner or generator. My only question is, like I see those small propane tanks for sale everywhere. and theyre small so I can fit in a bookbag for bringing home. but how long does a small propane tank last in one of those things. Its like noone on this site uses them, and I cant find site that says how long a tank will last.

yeah, id love to see that pic. My fish tank is always exciting. Ive got 2 red eared sliders (turtles) living peacefully or semi peacefully with the managuense about a 10 - 12", a red devil whos smaller but runs shit, a pleco whos hilarious, a pacu that is laziest fish on earth, and a baby managuense that must run for its life from all the fish except pacu, who that little bastard pwns and hes about 3 inches. been through many many fish over the years, ive had a tank since I was 15. currently 55 gallon. i was going to stack another under, but weed is new priority.
