1800 Watt 4x8 Tent.. How Many Plants?

Hey guys, my 39 beautiful Vanilla Kush finally hit 15 days today and I plan to veg them for 2 more weeks for a total of 4 weeks before I switch to flower. I will be running a Secret Jardin 4x8 Tent and (3) 600 watt hoods. My question is what would be the maximum amount of plants I can fit in here. I read somewhere that one plant should have a minimum of 1 sq. ft so would 32 be safe? And how about topping the plants a week before putting them in flower just in case I need the head space for such a small area. This will be my first grow in a tent so I'm looking for those who had experience with this. Just for more info, plants are in a coco mix and will be transplanted in 3 gallon smart pots after 4 weeks of veg. My goal is to shoot for at least 2lbs but I would like to increase that if I can get the best advice here possible. Thanks for stopping by my thread and I hope to learn a lot from everyone here.

I will be absolutely shocked if you can keep your temps under control running 1800 watts in a 4x8 tent.

Assuming you can control your temps I would do around 20, honestly I have found that plant quantity is not really a big deal, your yields are mostly determined by your lighting. Methods like topping and fimming can cause your plants to have several cola's which will often increase your yield. 1800 watts as a first time grower you should shoot for roughly 900 grams dry which would be 31.5 Oz of bud, aka a little under 2lbs. As you continue to adapt your methods and gain experience growing you will be able to roughly double that.

Make sure to run those lights with the tent closed for several hours all at once before you get plants in there to make sure you can handle the temps. If they exceed 85F you will likely have airy light buds and a lower overall yield.

Also I would top your plant roughly 2 weeks before you intend to flower them, it can take that long for the plant to fully recover from the shock of topping and I have heard of plants going hermie from being overstressed.

I'm not worried with temps since I'll have a few 6'' fans and I'll be exhausting all the hot air out the window. 20 plants seem pretty low imo. I just topped them today so we'll see how much it will stunt their growth in a couple weeks. I left 8 of them alone to compare the yield and quality of the buds. I'll have some pics up in a couple days so stay tuned!

Im running the same setup. One 4x8 tent with 3 600 suns. 440 cfm 6" inline fan. I do 15 plants with 3 week veg. Flower 9 weeks and my best has been 31.5. I had to shut one light down 6 days total throughout the grow because of high temps(88,89). I was also running 5 of 15 plants that were low yielding WOS afghan kush x yumbolt strain. Its always nice to see similar set-ups and good luck to anyone reading this with the same. Peace

12 large LST plants. 3 gallon containers. ~3-4 week veg.

54 small plants 12/12 from seed or up to 2 week veg. 6 inch containers.

otherwise
100 clones after the clones root and are about half the size you want them to be. again 6 inch containers

In a 4x8 area? Well I run 8 plants under 1 , 1000k hood in a 6x6 area. I would say 10 plants for your area would be good and you wont run out of room, temps wont be a issue with 1 fan running through lights, fresh air comkng in and 1 exhaust pulling air out then 1 oscillating fan on canopy and 1 below. If you run co2 youll increase yields more and produce more resin and withstand higher and lower temps and more drought resistance, I notice way faster growth and density w co2. Its a must have now and it pays for itself. I also believe in uv rays.

Heres some porn.20131201_223134.jpg

Ps if your going organic I would suggest never going below 5 gallons, I notice yields suffer when running anything smaller than that. I run 7-20 and love it.

Ps I dont skimp on veg time, I go a full 2 months or even more. I train the plants refusely at a young age and try to get 10+ branches started before 12inches then I keep training but not as much and usually 2 months is plenty and the height isn't out of control actually, about 2 foot to 3 depending on strain. I just think big roots, equals big buds and in container gardening if your growing a sativa you can fill out 5 gals no problem. If you limit you productivity because you didnt supply enough rootzone then thats a huge bummer. I love the mainline method and will most likely do that from here on out .

anyone have any idea what type of yield the large 12 plants with 4 week veg would yield under 1800.. what should one expect under flawless grow vs bad grow vs decent grow.
