18 Members of Congress Call on President Obama to Remove Marijuana from Schedule I

Wow 18 out of 435 house members of congress now have a clue, but what about the other 96%? There simply are no wealthy and powerful lobbies in this country representing the individual faced with inequality and absurdity under the law. What is the difference between the employer and individual mandates of Obamacare? Only one side has lobbyists and legions of lawyers willing and able to protect them and their "interests" in a court of law

Sometimes all it takes is one person to have the guts to stand up and say what needs to be said for the rest of the herd to follow. I think that's what we're seeing here.

It made me think pretty hard about who I influence around me. It made me change a lot of what I say and how I say it. Anyway, I'm trying to stay on the positive so I'll say this. When I started on this site in 2012 I remember seeing posts of arrests after arrests. Some were people who went outside the boundaries of the MMMP rules by either having too many plants or too much plant material on hand. Not everyone but some, the ones who are following the rules and got arrested I am now seeing a lot of those overturned. It sucks either way but things are changing and fast. More and more political gain in Washington regardless of what side the politicians fall on can only be good. We need to fight to keep the power in our hands as much as possible.

Great, they'll reschedule it to 2, HB4271 will be perma-dead, and Prairie Plant will have free reign over the MMJ industry in MI. :/

my worst fear....and you're probably right.
If they change to Schedule 2 then were most likely looking at federal legalization and that will change the game completely. We'll get our provisioning centers in MI. The support for legalization is too much for the few remaining political holdouts that don't want to accept the reality that marijuana legalization has the majority in public opinion.
